Domino's Franchise Launches Pre-Pay Contactless Smart Card With sQuid eMoney

Bolton, England--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Domino's Bolton franchise is introducing its own branded smart card payment system using London-based sQuidcard's tap-and-go eMoney technology. Paul Samson, the franchisee of Domino's Pizza Restaurant, believes the inclusion of the contactless payment card will play a key role in the ongoing profitability of his take-away restaurant.

"We have always kept a very close eye on our market, looking at sustainable ways to improve our service offering," says Mr Samson. "When the Bolton Council adopted the sQuid eMoney service as part of its Bolton Smart card, I saw that this was a very obvious solution for us. It not only reduces our costs of handling cash, the sQuidcard speeds up the purchase transaction time and also enables us to reward our customers with bespoke offers."

The Bolton franchise of listed company Domino's Pizza is the first in the chain to adopt the sQuid technology. Adam Smith, Managing Director of sQuidcard said that he is certain others in the franchise organisation will follow suit. "sQuid is particularly suited for the thousands of businesses providing low-value cash items," he said. "We have completed our trials with Paul Samson's franchise and everything is working perfectly. Domino's is an excellent brand, enabling us to extend the use of sQuid across the wider Bolton community."

Domino's customers can register their cards online and then view their transactions, top-up their card and receive special deals by email. They can also top-up their card in-store and at the other numerous locations using sQuid.

Over the last week Domino's Pizza UK and IRL (LSE:DOM) outperformed the FTSE 100 index. Paul Samson believes the introduction of the Domino's smart card will enable him to substantially improve his business performance too.

The new Domino's sQuidcard goes live in Bolton today.

About sQuid

sQuid eMoney is the alternative to the debit and credit card networks for sub £10 contactless transactions - a market forecast to grow rapidly, replacing some of the £200bn cash transactions made each year in the UK.

sQuid has a multi-purse capability and is compatible with ITSO (transit) schemes. sQuid operates enhanced security between the card, the terminal and the payments engine, and allows additional functions to be delivered to the card holder and the retailer. This enables a sQuidcard to be used not only for low value purchases but also as a pre-pay transit card.

sQuidcard is a subsidiary of Nucleus Limited, a leading brand, internet and venturing business.
