New Restaurant Concept to Put Johnny Rockets on the Road

First Mobile Kitchen for Global Fast Casual Chain Unveiled

Lake Forest, CA--(Marketwire) - After more than nine months of planning and preparation, Johnny Rockets Group, Inc. today introduced the first of what they believe will be many custom-built mobile restaurant units. The inaugural edition, with a 22-foot kitchen and 14-foot trailer, was purchased by -- and customized for -- The Washington Redskins football organization. It will make its debut at the team's Training Camp, opening July 30, at Redskins Park. Eight team practices are open to the public, including Fan Appreciation Day, on August 8, 2009. Last year's Fan Appreciation Day drew more than 28,000 spectators.

"With our existing flexible footprints ranging in size from 400 to 3,500 square feet -- and restaurants in locations as diverse as football stadiums, amusement parks, baseball fields, casinos, airports and cruise ships -- these mobile units are the next logical step in bringing our classic American fare to our guests," stated Shelley Donovan, Vice President of Development for Johnny Rockets.

Manufactured by Custom Concessions, of Dublin, GA, the new Johnny Rockets restaurant trucks average 25 feet of kitchen space, which includes two fryers, a grill, refrigeration and freezer, 12-valve soda fountains and a two-flavor shake machine. Each unit is designed to provide a condensed menu of Johnny Rockets favorites, including hamburgers, shakes, American fries, hot dogs, chicken tenders and, when feasible, onion rings.

In order to quickly serve the freshest food possible to the greatest number of guests, the mobile Johnny Rockets will feature clam shell grills produced by Garland, one of the leading manufacturers and marketers of commercial cooking equipment in the foodservice industry. The new grills will accommodate speed of service, allowing for hamburgers to be thoroughly cooked in less than two minutes. Combining this technology with an experienced staff, each unit can cook one hundred hamburgers in twenty minutes.

Each mobile Johnny Rockets unit will employ a cross-trained staff of at least six people: two cooks, one fry cook, two window hosts and one person to make shakes and prepare dishes.

The next mobile Johnny Rockets restaurant, purchased by Franchise Partners in the Middle East, is scheduled to launch later in the year.

Johnny Rockets currently has exclusive franchising territories available in both domestic and international markets.
