LAKE FOREST, CA--(Marketwire - July 1, 2009) - Recently signing a ten-restaurant franchising agreement for Mexico City, and a twelve-unit deal for eastern Mexico, Johnny Rockets has now focused efforts to move the brand south, to Central and South America.
"Moving south is a natural progression for us," said Steve Devine, Senior Vice President of International Development for the restaurant chain. "We currently have eight very successful restaurants operating in Mexico, including one in the Six Flags theme park in Mexico City. We also have signed commitments for 27 more Mexican locations within the next ten years. Through the Franchise Partners with these agreements, we know that the Johnny Rockets business model works well within the Latin culture."
While still offering exclusive development rights in Mexico -- planning to eventually support 150 units within that country -- the Johnny Rockets development team is also actively seeking franchise partners in several other Latin American territories. These include those countries with populations that already support and appreciate American cuisine and culture -- specifically, Panama, Guatemala, Honduras, Belize, Costa Rica, Brazil, Argentina and Chile.
"The overwhelming success of our five franchise partners in Mexico, and the popularity of our restaurants within U.S. Latin communities, proves that our all-American brand is one that translates well within the Latin community," declares David Pettengill, Johnny Rockets' Director of International Development.
Pettengill adds, "Our flexible footprint and simple business model allow franchise partners to build restaurants within a variety of applications and locations. This is why you will find versions of Johnny Rockets in venues as diverse as sports arenas, cruise ships, casinos, airports and museums."
The Company believes that the universal appeal of their menu and the upbeat, music-focused atmosphere in their restaurants are what continue to make Johnny Rockets a fiscally appealing venture around the globe.
Since 1986, Johnny Rockets has offered the food, fun and friendliness that remind guests of timeless, feel-good Americana. Every Johnny Rockets restaurant serves simple, great-tasting food from a menu of all-American favorites, including juicy hamburgers, classic sandwiches and hand-dipped shakes and malts. It's the place to go for fast, friendly service, flavorful food, uplifting music and relaxed, casual fun. Headquartered in Lake Forest, Calif., Johnny Rockets has 274 corporate and franchise-owned restaurants in 29 states and 11 countries, including those found in Six Flags amusement parks and aboard Royal Caribbean cruise ships. Johnny Rockets is currently franchising new restaurants in most markets.
