Latin America Targeted for Expansion of Johnny Rockets Brand

Central and South America Identified as Priorities for Restaurant Growth


LAKE FOREST, CA--(Marketwire - July 1, 2009) - Recently signing a ten-restaurant franchising agreement for Mexico City, and a twelve-unit deal for eastern Mexico, Johnny Rockets has now focused efforts to move the brand south, to Central and South America.

"Moving south is a natural progression for us," said Steve Devine, Senior Vice President of International Development for the restaurant chain. "We currently have eight very successful restaurants operating in Mexico, including one in the Six Flags theme park in Mexico City. We also have signed commitments for 27 more Mexican locations within the next ten years. Through the Franchise Partners with these agreements, we know that the Johnny Rockets business model works well within the Latin culture."

While still offering exclusive development rights in Mexico -- planning to eventually support 150 units within that country -- the Johnny Rockets development team is also actively seeking franchise partners in several other Latin American territories. These include those countries with populations that already support and appreciate American cuisine and culture -- specifically, Panama, Guatemala, Honduras, Belize, Costa Rica, Brazil, Argentina and Chile.
