Lapels Dry Cleaning Eliminates Percentage Royalty Fees!

December 21, 2009 // Franchising.com // DATELINE: HANOVER, MA…In an unprecedented move, the Lapels Dry Cleaning corporate office announced that it would be eliminating the percentage based royalty program and replacing it with a Flat Fee Royalty.

Lapels Dry Cleaning Franchise sales topped the 50 unit mark in 2009 putting Next Step Franchising, Inc. in a position to reward the franchisees that have been integral to the growth of the brand in the early years and offer an incentive to those who are considering joining their rapidly growing franchise program.

"We've always had a vision that when we hit the 50 franchise milestone we would do something to reward those franchisees that helped us get to this point," says Michael Eisner, Director of Sales for Lapels and the system's very first franchisee. To this end, Next Step Franchising, Inc. began a program to convert their five percent weekly royalty to a fixed royalty of $100.00 per week for all franchisees. That means, regardless of how high sales climb, the weekly royalty will remain at $100.00. This new fixed royalty replaces the previous 5% royalty and will save the average franchisee thousands of dollars each year.

"We realize, from experience, how difficult it is to grow a business from nothing," says Lapels founder and President, Lawrence P. Friedman. "To plant the seed, fund it and help it to grow takes a good amount of time, an extraordinary amount of attention, persistence, determination and drive beyond belief.
