Call for Artists: Smashburger Rocks San Diego March 2010

SAN DIEGO --(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Smashburger, a fast-casual "better burger" restaurant, is looking for San Diego's best homegrown band to kick off its San Diego debut. Through the "Rock Your City" band competition, San Diego musicians can upload a video of their musical ensemble and compete for a chance to headline the Smashburger grand opening weekend. The band with the most votes will play a one-hour set at the La Jolla Smashburger on Prospect Street and Girard Avenue on Saturday, March 27, 2010 from 1 to 2 p.m. The event will be broadcast on Star 94.1.

Think your band has what it takes? Here's how to get in the running:

  1. Upload a video of you/your band performing (PG, please) to YouTube by Friday, March 19, 2010.
  2. Send the link, your contact information, and any questions to bands@smashburger.com.

Finalists will be notified of their inclusion in the competition. The winning band will be chosen by the public through online voting, which runs from Saturday, March 20 to Wednesday, March 24, 2010. The chosen band will be announced Wednesday, March 24, 2010. Be sure to log onto www.smashburger.com/bands to see how your band is faring and remind your friends to vote.

If you will work for burgers, this could be the gig for you. The winning band will play a one-hour set at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 27, 2010. Local media will be invited to this event and bands' videos will be posted on the national Smashburger website. Bands are responsible for transporting their own instruments and taking care of any sound equipment needs.
