The Great Clips Franchise Opportunity Launches Its Fire Me Up! Sweepstakes

Great Clips franchise owners get a boost in sales from the brands' most ambitious multi-media campaign ever

April 28, 2010 // Franchising.com // Great Clips franchising is investing in network TV, local broadcast, social media and in-salon promotion to fuel North America's number one hair salon brand franchise's three-part Fire Me Up! Sweepstakes that runs through May 7, then again in June, and finally in September.

Lucky winners receive transportation, hotel and pit passes to meet Great Clips Racing Team fan favorites, Kasey Kahne and Jason Leffler, at the Charlotte Motor Speedway, May 30, the Talladega Superspeedway, October 31, and the Homestead-Miami Speedway, November 21.

"This sweepstakes uses our popular race car drivers across multiple media as part of our overall interactive marketing strategy to capture contact information from existing and potential customers," said Rob Goggins, vice president franchise development for Great Clips. "We continue to build our consumer database and provide our franchise owners with the programs and tools to create loyal fans, followers, and customers."

TV spots for the Fire Me Up! Sweepstakes air in heavily watched NASCAR coverage on the FOX Network through the Heath Calhoun 400 at the Richmond International Raceway, May 1. Great Clips franchisees are supporting the campaign through their local media with TV and radio commercials tagged with professionally produced Sweepstakes information.

Additionally, Great Clips franchising will share their Sweepstakes message through social media on their Facebook site, on Twitter, and on websites greatclips.com, KaseyKahneRacing.com, and Braunracing.com.

Lastly, each of the 2,800 Great Clips hair salon franchises throughout the U.S. and Canada are promoting the Sweepstakes with a front desk poster, receipt tape messaging, mirror clings, and wallet cards.

"Our Fire Me Up! Sweepstakes has sparked interested and increased sales for our Great Clips franchise owners," adds Goggins. "High-profile NASCAR drivers, multi-media communications, interactive platforms, in-salon promotion, and franchisee participation ignite our growth and strengthen our standing as North America's number one hair salon brand franchise."

In December, AllBusiness.com, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dun & Bradstreet, released its 2010 Franchise AllStar 300 listing and once again ranked the Great Clips franchise opportunity as the top hair salon business franchise opportunity.

"Our typical franchisees invest in Great Clips in order to transition out of corporate America. The business model allows individuals to keep their day jobs while building their salon businesses on the side. Successful franchisees usually come from the middle- and upper-level executive ranks of industry. They possess strong management, leadership, communications and people skills. And they don't cut hair," says Goggins, "they are CEOs of their Great Clips, managing people and expanding their businesses.

"Even in this recession economy we are attracting more inquiries to our franchise opportunity due in part to our aggressive marketing campaigns and to our 22 consecutive quarters of same-store sales growth."
