Card Connection Territory on the Market for the First Time in 17 Years

May 04, 2010 // Franchising.com // Leading greeting card publisher and franchisor, Card Connection, has today announced its Northampton territory is on the market for the first time in 17 years. The compact area is area made up of both town and rural geography and has been run as a profitable business since 1993.

"Using a proven system, our Card Connection franchisees select from more than 1,200 high-quality greetings cards to place ranges in retail outlets on a 'consignment' basis," explains Andrew Cutler, sales director of Card Connection. "This means the stock and display equipment is installed on free loan to the retailer and they only pay for what they sell.

"This consignment sales model creates a 'win-win' situation for the retailers and has proved particularly popular over the years," continues Cutler. "Our franchisees now supply convenience stores, sub post offices, petrol station forecourts and staff restaurants in large offices across the UK. We also supply numerous national accounts, including: Costcutter, Londis, Netto, Budgens, Spar and Haldanes.

"The opportunity to purchase the Northampton territory offers a prospective franchisee the rare opportunity to buy an established business with a loyal customer base," confirms Cutler. "Yet, at the same time, there is the potential to expand into new retail outlets and we anticipate a candidate with the suitable enthusiasm and drive, will quickly be able to grow this franchise's profitability to higher levels.

Card Connection has limited UK vacancies for franchisees who are keen to run an expanding business. Successful candidates would ideally have some management experience as, once established, they would be expected to employ a small team, operate a warehouse and have several liveried vans on the road.

Because the franchise networks in the UK and Ireland are complete, the available opportunities now consist of acquiring an already-established territory from an existing franchisee. These vary in price according to their level of development, but start at £20,000 (+ stock) with earnings potential in excess of £50,000 per annum.
