Freshii CEO Matthew Corrin Featured in Visa Business Card Commercial

Healthy Fast Casual Concept Uses Visa Business Card to Control Food Costs

May 04, 2010 // Franchising.com // Chicago, IL — Freshii CEO Matthew Corrin has been featured in a Visa Business Card television commercial. The commercial features Corrin discussing how Freshii uses Visa Business Card services to control food costs, the essential driver in restaurant profitability.

Said Corrin, "The line between profit and loss is very thin. The food cost is the most important aspect of financial control. It's the make or break in this business. You are dealing with perishable products, so if you don't sell it, you throw it out. We are able to use our Visa Business Card to categorize our costs, and identify and monitor red flags."

The wildly successful fast casual concept is known for its modern, hip vibe and convenient, healthy and delicious meals and snacks. There are more than 20 Freshii restaurants in Chicago, Washington, DC, Denver, and Toronto, several new restaurants currently under construction, and an additional 300 units in varying stages of development in the US (Washington, DC; Denver, Colorado; Orange County, California; Los Angeles and San Francisco, California; Houston, Texas; Phoenix, Arizona; Manhattan, New York; and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) and internationally in Canada, the United Arab Emirates and Austria.

Freshii's popularity skyrocketed since the first location opened in Toronto in 2005, winning Freshii the title of Best New Retail Concept in Canada during its first year of business. Two years later, Freshii was named the 22nd Fastest Growing Company in Canada. U.S.-based QSR Magazine has dubbed Freshii "One to Watch," and Fast Casual Magazine ranked Freshii in its 2009 Top 100 Movers & Shakers report. Freshii founder and CEO, Matthew Corrin, was interviewed by Sir Richard Branson at an interactive entrepreneur's summit. The media buzz surrounding Freshii continued in a February 2010 article by Fast Casual Magazine titled "Is Matthew Corrin the next Howard Schultz?"
