Embassy Suites Announces Best in Brand Award Winners

Award-winning Hotels and Executives Recognized at Embassy Suites Regional Conferences

May 25, 2010 // Franchising.com // McLean, VA – Today Embassy Suites Hotels announced a complete list of winners of the 2010 Embassy Suites Make a Difference Awards, which were presented to selected properties and their leaders during the brand's biannual regional conferences in Portland, Denver, Atlanta and St. Louis this month. The conferences' "REVup" theme was designed to encourage brand leaders to continue to excel in all that they do while living the brand culture and values of Embassy Suites Hotels.

"It was an honor to recognize the very best properties and leaders in our brand," said Jim Holthouser, global head of Embassy Suites Hotels and full service brands, Hilton Worldwide. "At Embassy Suites, we place great value in recognizing and rewarding our team members for embodying the brand's "Make a Difference" service culture. We congratulate both the winners and nominees."

The Hervey Feldman Award, named in honor of an Embassy Suites pioneer and the brand's first president, recognizes the General Manager of the Year. The 2009 honor went to Tim Billing (pictured) of the Embassy Suites San Luis Obispo.

Other winners selected from the brand's 206 properties include:

  • Director of Sales of the Year – Sabena Robinson, ES Myrtle Beach Oceanfront Resort
  • Revenue Manager of the Year – Mimi Garner RM, ES Dallas - DFW Airport North Outdoor World
  • Make a Difference Hotel of the Year – ES Charlotte - Concord Golf Resort and Spa
  • Best Sales Promotion – ES Deerfield Beach - Resort & Spa, "Sea Turtles" promotion
  • Sales Team of the Year – ES Santa Clara - Silicon Valley
  • Sustainability Hotel of the Year – ES Lake Tahoe Hotel & Ski Resort

Each winner received a trophy and individual recognition at receptions during the conferences. "The huddles were a great way to recognize our leaders and work toward a common goal as a brand," said John Lee, vice president brand marketing, Embassy Suites Hotels. "We hope each leader returns to their property with a renewed drive to succeed."
