Three Stays at Aloft or Element Hotels Earn Travelers a Free Night

Free Night Awards Come with No Blackout Dates and Are Available Seven Nights a Week

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Just three stays at Aloft and Element hotels worldwide will earn guests a free night through a promotion launching today.

Guests can register for the promotion through the Starwood Preferred Guest(R) program by going to www.spg.com/aloftandelementfreenights. Qualifying stays from August 9 through September 30 will count toward the free night. There are no limits on the number of free nights a member can earn and members can redeem their awards at any Aloft or Element hotel worldwide through December 19, 2010. Free Night Awards can be used seven days a week and there are no blackout dates, though stays are subject to room availability.

Aloft and Element are the newest hotel brands from Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide, Inc. (NYSE: HOT). Created to shake up the traditional, staid select service category in the hotel industry, Aloft Hotels delivers style at a steal with urban-influenced, modern, open and vibrant design at an affordable price point. With 42 hotels open since its 2008 launch, Aloft became the talk of the hospitality industry by going global while in launch mode. Element Hotels made history when it launched as the first major hotel brand to mandate that its properties pursue the US Green Building Council's (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification. Designed to be "green from the ground up," Element hotels blend nature-inspired smart design with inspiring public spaces. With seven hotels currently open, Element will make its debut in New York City's Times Square in October 2010.

"Part of this promotion is about thanking travelers for embracing Aloft and Element so enthusiastically," said Brian McGuinness, Senior Vice President of Specialty Select Brands for Starwood. "Aloft has enjoyed the fastest ramp-up of any major hotel brand in industry history, and Element has earned stratospheric guest satisfaction ratings, demonstrating that these are the right brands to launch at the right time."
