D'Angelo Grilled Sandwiches Franchise Raises More Than $90,000 for The Jimmy Fund

D'Angelo Grilled Sandwiches Senior Vice President of Brand Development Michael McManama presented a check worth $91,136 to the Jimmy Fund during the WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund telethon today. Over the past two years, D'Angelo has raised more than $175,000 for the Jimmy Fund. From Monday, July 19 through Sunday, August 8, D'Angelo guests donated $1 to support the Jimmy Fund and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. In return, guests received coupon booklets filled with more than $15 in coupons for D'Angelo Grilled Sandwiches most popular menu items, a Jimmy Fund patient profile and a detachable "End of Season Red Sox" schedule.

The Jimmy Fund, an official charity of the Boston Red Sox, supports the fight against cancer at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, helping to raise the chances of survival for children and adults with cancer around the world. Since its founding in 1948, the Jimmy Fund has raised millions of dollars through thousands of community efforts to advance Dana-Farber's lifesaving mission. Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, with support from the Jimmy Fund, provides expert, compassionate care to children and adults and is home to groundbreaking cancer discoveries.

"Once again the generosity of our guests and the constant dedication of our team members and franchisees enabled us to exceed last year's goals and raise more than $91,000 for the Jimmy Fund," said Michael McManama, senior vice president of brand development for Papa Gino's, Inc., parent company of D'Angelo Grilled Sandwiches. "In this difficult economy, our team members rallied behind this effort to raise funds for the Jimmy Fund, which will be used to provide vital services through Dana-Farber Cancer Institute."

D'Angelo Grilled Sandwiches is the official sandwich of the Red Sox. For the second season, D'Angelo ran its Lobster Nation campaign and sponsored the highly popular Catch of the Day on NESN. Guests may redeem the coupons they receive in appreciation for their contributions at participating D'Angelo Grilled Sandwiches.
