ColorTyme Franchise spreads good will in Sharon Hill

Community involvement a priority for young franchisees

October 20, 2010 // Franchising.com // SHARON HILL, Pa. – Two local franchisees have done more than make a promise to offer the best rent-to-own products with the best service in town; they've also made a commitment to the community. Scott McHale and Harry Pappas III, owners of the new ColorTyme, demonstrate another meaning to customer service with support both in and outside of the store.

Since opening their doors in September, the ColorTyme team has been a source of positive impact and charity. Currently they are encouraging all visitors to enter into a free drawing for a 50-inch plasma TV in celebration of the store's grand opening.

"We have been given such a warm welcome by everyone, we thought a giveaway would be the perfect way to say 'thank you'," said McHale. "Our goal is to give customers the best rent-to-own experience possible, and going out of our way to make people smile is part of that goal."

In addition, the two owners recently donated a table to Sharon Hill's volunteer fire department. Both younger than the average ColorTyme franchisee, McHale and Pappas III (33 and 34 years-old respectively) believe serving others creates meaning.

"Giving back to the community isn't an obligation. To us, it's an opportunity to invest in something that's bigger than ourselves and our business," said Pappas III. "Through service, we can extend kindness and develop a deeper relationship with others. That's what really matters."

As the store settles into the neighborhood, the philanthropy continues to grow.

"With the holidays coming up, we will be helping families and creating some fun in the store," McHale said. "Being involved in Sharon Hill isn't a one-time event for us. We care about the well-being of everyone here and will show our support for years to come."
