UNITS Mobile Storage Ensures Success of Holiday Season for Local Shelter

Owner's donation to Shepherd's Gate Homeless Shelter to Benefit Many

November 23, 2010 // Franchising.com // Livermore, CA – For the past 26 years, the Shepherd's Gate Shelter has been providing aid and protection to homeless and battered women and children of the Tri-Valley. Completely funded by donations and run through the help of volunteers, the shelter is an amazing example of the kind hearts that live in the East Bay area.

However, with somewhat limited resources, the shelter needs even more support as the holiday season comes around. Donna Topp, owner of the East Bay UNITS Mobile Storage, is helping to make a difference by offering to provide assistance to the shelter's holiday charity event.

"We are always looking to make a positive impact on our community," says Topp, "We greatly value each and every thing that Shepherd's Gate does for the many women and children who seek a haven from their troubled lives."

This is the second straight year Topp and UNITS of East Bay have worked with Shepherd's Gate to aid in the collection of clothes and toys for the shelter's annual Christmas food and present drive. A portable storage unit that is easily moved, packed and relocated is just what the shelter needs to help in this popular fundraiser.

"During the year we help over 300 battered and homeless women and children," explains Jenn Harp, Director of Marketing for Shepherd's Gate.

"And the holiday season is an even busier time of the year so it has been a blessing to have the continued support and assistance from Donna and UNITS so that we can make a positive difference in the lives of these local women."

New and unused gifts, as well as food, can be donated to the holiday drive Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m, now through Christmas. For more information or to coordinate large donations or items for drop-off, call the Shepherd's Gate Shelter at (925) 443-4283.

"Shepherd's Gate is a pillar of the community, and UNITS is proud to be a partner for this organization that makes such a huge impact in the lives of local women," Topp said. "So many people come together to make sure that the Shelter succeeds and we are happy to be a part of it."
