Jenny Craig Offers "Resolution Refresh" for Abandoned Weight Loss New Year's Resolutions

Leading Weight Loss Company Gives Second Chance to Weight Loss Resolutions

March 08, 2011 // Franchising.com // Carlsbad, Calif. — Jenny Craig, Inc., one of the leading authorities on weight management, is offering a second chance to those who abandoned their New Year's Resolutions to lose weight with a company-wide promotion called "Resolution Refresh." With successful celebrity clients including Valerie Bertinelli, Jason Alexander, Sara Rue and Nicole Sullivan currently on the Jenny Craig maintenance program, Jenny Craig provides a weight loss and maintenance program offering healthy, lifestyle solutions. The Resolution Refresh promotion is a 30-day challenge with special incentives that gives new clients an opportunity to revisit their New Year's Resolutions to lose weight and be physically active.

In a 2011 survey conducted by Harris Interactive, 44% of all adults say that they made a New Year's Resolution to lose weight, including 47% of women and 40% of men.1

"Many people have good intentions of following through with their weight loss New Year's Resolutions, but struggle to set realistic goals for themselves that help them maintain the change in lifestyle they need to achieve those goals," said Lisa Talamini, Vice President of Research and Program Innovation at Jenny Craig. "That is why Jenny Craig is such a successful weight loss program. We give clients their own consultant to help them create small, incremental goals that add up to meaningful results, and provide a solid support system throughout their weight loss and weight maintenance journeys."

Jenny Craig is a clinically proven, comprehensive weight loss program that addresses food, body and mind. In an independent clinical trial published in the Journal of the American Medical Association¸ Jenny Craig clients lost an average of 10% of their body weight at the one-year mark, and maintained a weight loss of 7.9% at the two-year mark, compared to 2% of those who dieted on their own. Talamini believes that Jenny Craig's food-body-mind approach to weight loss is the key to success for many consumers who set weight loss resolutions. "By focusing on not only changing eating and activity behaviors, but also the mindset around eating and activity, clients can experience long-lasting results," said Talamini.

Jenny Craig celebrity clients Sara Rue, Valerie Bertinelli, Nicole Sullivan and Jason Alexander all achieved success.

After a remarkable 50-pound weight loss* with Jenny Craig, celebrity spokesperson Sara Rue, of CW's new show Shedding for the Wedding, said this is her first year that she did not make a New Year's Resolution to lose weight.

"Every year, my New Year's Resolution was to lose a bunch of weight by my birthday, which is at the end of January. This year I didn't have that resolution," said Rue. "This is the first year that I don't have to make a resolution to change myself in order to feel confident; instead, my resolution for 2011 was to be more grateful and express my gratitude more often, and enjoy planning my upcoming wedding in May."

Valerie Bertinelli, of the hit TV show Hot in Cleveland, lost 40 pounds* and was happy to celebrate the New Year with a surprise wedding. Said Bertinelli, "Since losing the weight on Jenny Craig, I have been making a New Year's Resolution to keep doing what I'm already doing. I love the idea that I don't have to change myself every year, and that my goal is to stay just the way I am."

Added actor/comedian Jason Alexander, "Watching myself on Curb Your Enthusiasm, I barely recognized myself. The January after those episodes aired, I joined Jenny Craig and lost 30 pounds.*" Now on Jenny Craig's maintenance program, Alexander is the face of "Jen Works for Men," a series of commercials he wrote, starred and directed for Jenny Craig.

The enrollment period for Jenny Craig's 30-day challenge, "Resolution Refresh," is from March 5 to 11, 2011.* New clients can receive a four-week program for free with special incentives, plus the cost of food.**

*Jenny Craig clients, on average, lose 1-2 pounds per week.

**Valid from 3/5/11-3/11/11. $95 minimum weekly food purchase required to remain enrolled in 30-Day Challenge. At participating centres. New clients only. Restrictions apply.
