Popular Ice Cream Brand Gives Free Scoops to Public, Launches Social Media Flavor Ambassador Campaign

May 03, 2011 // Franchising.com // MINNEAPOLIS – As if warm weather wasn't already enough reason to celebrate, the Häagen-Dazs® brand, known for its all-natural, super premium ice cream, today announced it will host a free flavor day for customers visiting any participating Häagen-Dazs shop location nationwide.

On Tuesday, May 10, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., the Häagen-Dazs brand is encouraging consumers to round-up friends and family members to stop by and enjoy a scoop of any flavor on the house. With more than 250 shop locations nationwide, the well-known brand will also use the day to officially launch its search for a Häagen-Dazs Flavor Ambassador, a title and duty that comes with many fun-filled perks and freebies.

"May is a time when communities across the nation start to say so long to winter woes and hello to the sweet sound of summer," said Dawn Uremovich, president of Häagen-Dazs Shops. "We wanted to create a fun-filled afternoon that gets people out of their houses and we couldn't think of a better way than to entice them with a free scoop of ice cream."

For loyal fans of the brand interested in becoming the Häagen-Dazs Shops' Flavor Ambassador, participants can visit www.facebook.com/haagendazsshops and upload a video explaining why they should be honored with the prestigious title. A panel of judges from the company will award one lucky winner free ice cream for a year as well as the opportunity to provide feedback on prospective new flavors, a blog spot on the e-club newsletter and much more.
