Saladworks Chosen Best Franchise Deal

Included First in 2010, Saladworks Selected Again For Apt Idea, Unrivaled Operational Support by QSR

CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Saladworks, the nation's first and largest fresh-tossed salad franchise concept, has been named as one of the '10 Best Franchise Deals' by QSR Magazine.

Saladworks, featured in QSR's June issue, joined the ranks of prominent franchise chains on this industry leader publication's highly sought after annual list. Saladworks was acknowledged for, among others, average unit volume sales of $820,000- a nearly 2:1 sales to investment ratio- and a vigorous, hands on support structure for franchisees. Saladworks boasts of a 1:3 staff to franchisee ratio.

Blair Chancey, Editor, QSR said, "Saladworks has enjoyed great growth despite the recession. Not only does the company's menu appeal to the health-conscious diners, but there's almost unrivaled support from the home office for franchisees." Praising the company's support structure, she added, "their CEO John Scardapane even helps potential franchisees select build-out sites and spends several days with them making sure all their questions are answered about the brand. And that guidance is practically priceless!"

Founded in 1986, Saladworks operates 100 franchises from its base in the Mid-Atlantic region. The company is eyeing aggressive growth nationwide and internationally, currently developing 60 locations coast to coast and planning to open 500 locations by 2015.

"Saladworks empowers people to eat fresh, healthy, delicious salads, soups and sandwiches, giving them real value for their money. We are committed to serving fresh chopped, nutritional food, prepared daily to our customers," said John Scardapane, CEO, Saladworks. Our support for our franchisees continues well after they start operating their Saladworks. The entire home office and field business coaches continue to help them fine tune the art of running a Saladworks and maximizing profitability. As a result, more than 70% of our franchisees go on to become multi unit operators," he added.

To facilitate entrepreneurship in the current economic climate, Saladworks launched 'Saladworks Leasing' in 2010 to help a limited number of new franchisees to launch stores for only $75,000.

Paul Steck, President, Saladworks said, "'Saladworks Leasing' is a fantastic business opportunity for entrepreneurs who embody our core values of 'passion to be the best', 'whatever it takes to get it done' and 'it's all about the customer'. Not only are we firmly placed in the 'eat healthy' zeitgeist, but we empower budding entrepreneurs to live out their dreams of becoming empire builders in the restaurant business."

More than 70% of Saladworks franchisees own more than one location and demand is booming from thriving urban centers such as Boston, Tampa and Orange County, CA to smaller towns such as Lancaster, PA, which just opened its third Saladworks location.
