Texans' Fresh Coat Painters Franchise Marks First Year with Steady Sales, Growing Staff, Positive Outlook

Paul and Linda Timmons are adding jobs and increasing sales just one year after launching their Fresh Coat Painting franchise in Fort Worth, Texas.

Fort Worth, TX (PRWEB) Growing a business …. Adding jobs …. In a down economy .... In a hard-hit area …. Texans Paul and Linda Timmons are demonstrating how it's done. The couple just marked their one-year anniversary as Fresh Coat Painters franchise owners, and already they're on track to top a half-million dollars in sales. In addition, they've hired eight professional painters and expect to add even more within the next few months.

"Theirs is one of our many success stories," said Bernie Brozek, president of Fresh Coat. "They've shown how professionalism and client service are the keys to success. Indeed, all our franchisees know that running a painting business isn't about painting. It's about each client's entire experience from that initial call to the job completion and beyond."

For the Timmonses, that commitment to clients provides the foundation for all their business decisions, and the Fort Worth market demands exceptional service. .

"The market here is very, very competitive," Paul said. "There are lots of jobs that could be done, so we focus our attention on winning bids and serving clients, and that's worked for us. We're on track to do $600,000 to $700,000 in sales this year, possibly more."

Linda said that when Paul visits a home or business to introduce himself and discuss client expectations, most clients are impressed – especially because he took notes. "Paul does a great job of building relationships, a true partnership where both sides feel it's reciprocal," Linda said. "As a result, his close rate is really high. I also send emails to clients confirming all the details. I don't know how often I have clients say that no one else even called them back."

Like other franchise owners in the Fresh Coat organization, Brozek said, the Timmonses understand that clients want to be respected both for their time and their opinions.

"We do take a very professional approach," Paul said. "We show up when we say we will, and if for any reason we can't, we contact the client. We don't leave them in the dark waiting around for us. Clients thank us for that courtesy."

As the parents to two active teenagers, both Paul and Linda understand the importance of scheduling in the effort to balance work and family life. Daughter Katie just turned 16, started driving, and competes in league-level volleyball. Son Jackson, 13, plays on his school's basketball team and as a percussionist in the school band.

"I want to be free to spend time with my kids," Paul said. "And I try to make it to their activities because it's important for my daughter when she's looking to the sidelines or for my son when he's looking into the audience to see Dad there."

Linda said that their clients and their painters appreciate her efforts in scheduling accurately. She books the appointments for the business and the family, so everyone is on the same page and knows exactly what they can expect. Her process also helps to ensure client satisfaction.

"We work to ensure everything goes right," she said, "but if it doesn't, we make it right. It's like this: If you make a mistake and fix it, you may get further than when everything goes right from the start. People remember it and tell others about it when you take the extra steps to ensure satisfaction."

Paul also praised the professionalism and workmanship of his painters. .

"One thing I'm most proud of is the compliments I get about my painters," he said. "I have four teams of two who do superior work. To do the kind of work we specialize in at Fresh Coat, we need that level of craftsmanship. Painters paint because they love to paint, and God bless them. They spend 70 percent of their time prepping the job and 30 percent of it actually painting. They take a lot of pride in their finished product."

Brozek said that professional painters do appreciate the Fresh Coat business model because the company hires only employees, never subcontractors.

"That policy offers stability to painters in a high-demand industry with way too many fly-by-night operators," he said. "Our structure is just one reason our franchisees have the opportunity to launch and grow their businesses quickly. One of our paramount goals is to help them succeed by complementing their ambition and abilities with top-notch support in marketing, training and resources." And referrals from happy clients have proved to be most beneficial in expanding the operation, Paul said.

"I'll give you an example," he said. "I have one client who hired us to paint the exterior of her home. My team did a great job, and she called me back to paint the interior. Then, her father-in-law called me to paint the exterior of his house. A guy down the street saw that work and called me to do his house. Now the lady across the street from him wants to talk with me. All those jobs stemmed from one job where I decided to give that client the extra quality and service she wanted."
