Canine Social Club Hosts Ultimate Puppy Championship at L.A.'s "Free Fido Days"

August 08, 2011 // Franchising.com // LOS ANGELES –– In honor of the "world's worst dog," Marley, and the launch of Marley & Me: The Puppy Years, Zoom Room is rallying together L.A.'s silliest dogs and quickest puppies to participate in a tricks and agility contest on Saturday, August 13 at The Grove, located at 189 The Grove Drive in Los Angeles from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The day-long dog festival, "Free Fido Days," will feature a 7 p.m. world premier screening of Marley & Me: The Puppy Years, by Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, and will include dogs available for adoption, giveaways, treats and booths from a wide variety of vendors of dog services and products, in addition to Zoom Room's Silly Dog Trick Contest and Ultimate Puppy Championship.

The Ultimate Puppy Championship focuses on puppy agility training which is key for developing balance, coordination, communication and self-confidence in a young pup, and is also a great bonding experience for master and four-legged friend. For the contest, Zoom Room has prepared an agility course designed specifically for puppies and encourages all dogs under the age of one to participate. The fastest puppy to make it through the course will go home with great prizes. There is no cost to enter the contest, only proof of up-to-date vaccinations is required.

"Many people don't realize the benefits that agility training has for puppies if done correctly," said COO of Zoom Room, Mark Van Wye. "Free Fido Days is a fun event that brings dog lovers together and provides a bonding experience for the whole family. I am thrilled that Zoom Room is able to participate in this great event and share the joys and benefits of dog agility with all of those who attend."

In addition to the Ultimate Puppy Challenge, Zoom Room will host a Silly Dog Tricks Contest. Dogs of all breeds and ages are welcome to enter and show off their silliest dog trick. Winners will receive a free Marley & Me: The Puppy Years DVD. Like Zoom Room's Ultimate Puppy Championship, this contest is free to enter with proof of up-to-date vaccinations.

In addition to the Zoom Room, several other vendors will be in attendance at the event, including Ruff Ruff Couture which is hosting a doggy fashion show, pet adoption vendors including spcaLA, LA Animal Services and Best Friends, dog spaw experts Buddha Dog, doggie dining vendors Stella & Chewy and Three Dog Bakery, and dog obedience experts Thank Dog Boot Camp. The event will also feature a special appearance and photo opportunity with the film star himself, Marley.
