Beef 'O' Brady's Shares the ″Luck of the Irish″ with Stringfellow Elementary School

Family Sports Pub Franchise Makes Donation to Moultrie, GA School to Benefit Education

October 14, 2011 // Franchising.com // Moultrie, GA – Beef 'O' Brady’s, the restaurant chain made famous for its Buffalo-style chicken wings and community involvement, announced today that one lucky school will receive $1000 to benefit education programs.

Stringfellow Elementary School in Moultrie, GA was awarded the grand prize for the highest website involvement during the four-week Flat Paddy promotion at Beef 'O'Brady’s that ran through September 2011. Students across the nation were encouraged to pick up “Flat Paddy” coloring packets at their local Beef 'O'Brady’s restaurant and bring their decorated character on adventures, documenting their experiences online.

The students, faculty and staff of Stringfellow Elementary School are taking part in a celebration on Thursday, October 20, from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. at the local Beef 'O'Brady’s, located at 1 N. Main Street in Moultrie, GA. The party will be complete with signature Beef 'O'Brady’s chicken wings, appetizers, shakes and smoothies and the first and second place schools will receive their awards during a check presentation at the restaurant.

An overwhelming response of more than 6,800 photo submissions from 30 schools across the country made for stiff competition, but Stringfellow Elementary School reigned supreme with an impressive 1,800 student entries, beating the runner-up, another local school, by only 33 pictures.

The Flat Paddy promotion was implemented as a way to support local schools and excite the younger Beef 'O'Brady’s fan base by encouraging children to use their imagination and creativity. On top of the grand prize of $1,000 awarded to Stringfellow Elementary School, Beef 'O'Brady’s is also presenting the second through fifth place schools with a $100 gift card to their local restaurant. In addition, two customers per week at each Beef 'O'Brady’s location won gift cards throughout the promotion by entering a picture that correlated with specific themes such as: longest distance traveled, best sporting event picture, best picture with a local hero, and best picture of charity work.

“At a time when the majority of learning institutions are strapped for cash, we are excited to have this opportunity to make a contribution to a school in need,” said Chris Elliott, CEO of Beef 'O'Brady’s. “Giving back is a core value we pride ourselves on, and this promotion was a perfect way to get the communities we serve actively involved in supporting their own.”

The Flat Paddy program was implemented with Beef 'O'Brady’s ongoing commitment to community support in mind. To learn more about Beef 'O'Brady’s and the Flat Paddy program, visit www.beefobradys.com.
