Bruegger's Launches Second Annual Campaign for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals

Bagel chain invites Americans to help raise $100,000 for local hospitals.

BURLINGTON, VT, October 26, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Today, Bruegger's will kick off its second annual fundraising campaign for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals (CMNH) with a goal of raising $100,000 for the cause.

The bagel chain, with 300 locations in communities across the U.S., will give a portion of proceeds from sales of its popular Bottomless Mug Club to CMNH through January. Guests who purchase the Bottomless Mug receive free refills of coffee, tea and soda for a year.

The Bottomless Mugs, which can save members more than $300 per year, are sold at Bruegger's 300 locations, while supplies last. Proceeds from each sale are donated to the area children's hospital through Children's Miracle Network Hospitals.

"We want the kids and families served by Children's Miracle Network Hospitals to know that their communities really care," said Scott Colwell, Bruegger's chief marketing officer. "What better way to start your day than with a good cup of coffee and a show of support for kids who need your help."

Bruegger's will also encourage the whole community to pitch in on Wednesday, November 9, when it hosts Free Coffee Day at all of its 300-plus locations from opening until 2 p.m. Guests can enjoy their first cup on Bruegger's while donating their spare change (or more) to CMNH at canisters located by the register. In 2010, guests contributed more than $30,000 on Free Coffee Day.

"Each dollar raised in a local Bruegger's bakery stays in the community and benefits local children in need of a miracle," said Clark Sweat, CMNH senior vice president. "Through sales of its coffee mugs and the support of its guests, Bruegger's helps us do more good for millions of children and families across the U.S."

In 2010, the chain and its guests raised nearly $90,000 for Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. In addition to the three-month campaign, Bruegger's neighborhood bakeries host fundraisers and events for local children's hospitals throughout the year.

About Children's Miracle Network Hospitals

Children's Miracle Network Hospitals raises funds for 170 children's hospitals across North America, which, in turn, use the money where it's needed the most. When a donation is given it stays in the community, ensuring that every dollar is helping local kids. Since 1983, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals has raised more than $4 billion, most of it $1 at a time. These donations have gone to support research and training, purchase equipment, and pay for uncompensated care, all in support of the mission to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.
