GNC Again Partners with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital(R) for the 8th Annual Thanks and Giving(R) Campaign

Nation's largest specialty retailer of health and wellness products asks its customers and employees to support medical research and treatment for kids suffering from cancer and other deadly diseases

PITTSBURGH, Nov. 1, 2011 // PRNewswire // -- GNC Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: GNC), the nation's largest specialty retailer of health and wellness products, is once again partnering with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, for the sixth consecutive year, on the annual St. Jude Thanks and Giving campaign. The program, now in its eighth year, builds awareness and raises funds for the lifesaving research and treatment being done at St. Jude to help children fighting cancer and other deadly diseases.

In 2010, GNC raised over $1.9 million from its customers and employees. GNC customers will have the opportunity to make a donation at any one of the company's more than 3,700 U.S. retail corporate and franchise locations as well as online at GNC.com. GNC noted that 100% of the funds it raises from customers and employees goes directly to St. Jude.

"We are delighted to join St. Jude for the sixth straight year in supporting this remarkable donation program that assists children who are suffering from catastrophic childhood diseases," said Jeff Hennion, EVP - Chief Marketing Officer & e-Commerce at GNC (@jeffhennion). "GNC believes that giving to the Thanks and Giving campaign is one of the best ways that customers and employees can take a moment and contribute to something important – helping these children and their families Live Well this holiday season."

"GNC is a committed partner to our holiday Thanks and Giving campaign, helping us increase awareness and raise funds for the lifesaving mission of St. Jude," said Marlo Thomas, national outreach director for St. Jude. "It is because of partners like GNC and their customers that we can keep our promise that no child will ever be turned away if a family can't pay."

The annual holiday campaign asks customers to "Give thanks for the healthy kids in your life, and give to those who are not." To learn more or to donate today, visit www.gnc.com or www.stjude.org.
