Rising Grades, Rising Hopes: New Club Z! Branch Will Help Students Catch Up to Grade Level and Beyond

Local teacher Martha Stovall brings new opportunity to struggling Johnston County students with the opening of a Club Z! In-Home Tutoring Services branch.

CLAYTON, N.C., Dec. 16, 2011 // PRNewswire // -- In the current educational climate of budget cuts, larger class sizes, and fewer school personnel, providing quality attention to every student is harder than ever. As a former science teacher, new Club Z! owner and Area Director Martha Stovall is well aware of how easily struggling students can slip through the cracks in the educational system despite the best intentions and efforts of parents, teachers, and even the children themselves. Her desire to make a difference in the lives of these students led to a decision to invest in the type of help she felt was really needed - the focused, one-on-one tutoring provided by Club Z! In-Home Tutoring Services.

"While working as a classroom science teacher, I realized the immediate need for one-on-one academic assistance for many of my students," Ms. Stovall comments. "Parents frequently requested additional instruction time for their children, but with class sizes averaging more than 30 students, classroom teachers can only do so much. Upon investigation, I discovered that the tutoring services market in Johnston County was vastly underserved, so I ultimately decided to leave the classroom and re-enter the small business sector." Her new Club Z! branch will serve the Clayton and Garner areas of North Carolina.

Having previously managed her family's local agribusiness company, Ms. Stovall brings both management and small business expertise to her new venture. Her experience working with local youth also goes far beyond the classroom, as she is a lifetime member of the North Carolina 4-H Honor Club and a volunteer club leader for the 4-Leaf Flyers 4-H Club. This work with 4-H, a youth organization committed to building outstanding citizen leaders with marketable skills, is, says Ms. Stovall, her greatest joy - and the focus on building children's confidence and teaching them skills that will lead to a lifetime of success is similar to the goals of her new Club Z! tutoring franchise.

By owning and operating a Club Z! location, Ms. Stovall will be able to more directly ensure that struggling students receive the attention they need and deserve. "Club Z! tutors assist students one-on-one in their homes to grasp the concepts they will need to perform well in their classes," she states.

With the academic year not yet at its halfway point, many students are not yet worried about grades. However, for parents, Ms. Stovall points out, this is an ideal time to pay close attention to how well children are keeping up in school, whether their academic and study skills are truly at grade level, and whether early intervention is needed to ensure a successful school year.

A respected company with hundreds of thousands of happy clients, Club Z! offers tutoring to children of all ages and abilities at locations nationwide. North America's largest one-on-one in-home tutoring program, Club Z! is well-loved for its supportive tutoring style and high success rates. Tutors are pre-screened experts in their subject areas, and scheduling is flexible and parent-friendly. Additionally, the security of the home environment allows children to concentrate more easily, improving their focus and, as they work with their tutor and build skills, ultimately strengthening their academic confidence.

"The students we tutor develop problem-solving strategies in the short term and gain greater empowerment as individuals in the long term," Ms. Stovall states. To help this process, tutoring is centered about the students' own coursework as much as possible, in order to avoid overwhelming struggling students and ensure that they see the results of their hard work both at home and at school.

Club Z! focuses primarily on students from kindergarten through high school, with tutoring available in all subjects taught in the school curriculum. SAT exam prep is also a key concentration. "Our tutors help students to develop study strategies, whether for class exams or state standardized testing," says Ms. Stovall. "Club Z! also offers summer tutoring camps, a Kindergarten Readiness Program, an organization and study skills program called "Learning Built to Last," as well as memory, listening, and note-taking skills training."

"All parents want their children to realize their full potential. Parents are always looking for that extra edge to help their children grow and thrive, and Club Z! provides that added dimension," she concludes.
