Cookies by Design Opens Corporate-Owned Store in Dallas

Company Plans Additional Flagship Stores Across Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex

December 28, 2011 // Franchising.com // DALLAS – In time for the holidays, Cookies by Design, known as “the original cookie bouquet™ company,” opened today a corporate-owned retail location in North Dallas. The new store – which will serve as the company’s flagship location – is on the southeast corner of Coit and Campbell in Richardson, Texas.

The 1,210 square-foot retail space is a standard size Cookies by Design store. Through this new concept location, the company has turned its usual floorplan upside down with 70 percent space now dedicated to the lobby and 30 percent for the kitchen to create a relaxed consumer-friendly retail location to test new products, host cookie decorating parties and more.

With national headquarters in Plano, Texas, Cookies by Design will continue to bake fresh cookie bouquets, cookie cakes and gourmet cookies available for in-store purchase or same-day hand delivery. With the ability to personalize any message and customize any cookie, Cookies by Design creates one-of-a-kind gifts for all occasions

“The Dallas area is our home base, and it was a natural fit to launch our corporate, flagship store here,” said Jack Long, president and chief executive officer of Cookies by Design. “We envision this location to serve as the first of a handful of corporate-owned stores we plan to open in the Dallas area over the next few years. The Richardson location is a perfect complement to our other Metroplex locations in Arlington, Denton, Garland and Fort Worth.”

The new Cookies by Design store, located at 1920 North Coit Road, Suite 221, Richardson, Texas, currently employs five team members. It is opened weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The company signed a five-year lease for this retail space. John Bowles Company and Hudson Peters advised Cookies by Design on the transaction.
