Building A Foundation for a Brighter Future: Children's Lighthouse Learning Center Opens in Frisco

Local Husband and Wife Team Bring Leading Values-Based Educational Childcare Center to Hometown

February 22, 2012 // Franchising.com // FRISCO, Texas - Paving a path to academic success for young students, Children's Lighthouse Learning Centers announced today the opening of its new school in Frisco. Conveniently situated at 10660 Eldorado Parkway, just east of Preston Road and near Sem and Tadlock elementary schools, the center offers high-quality educational care that helps stimulate intellectual development in a safe, warm and welcoming environment designed to bring out the best in children.

Blessed with two kids of their own and a strong educational background, local Frisco residents Parkash and Dr. Kiran Arora, husband and wife, bring Children's Lighthouse Learning Center to town to provide children with a structured experience that is not available in traditional childcare centers. The new learning center is the 24th to open in Texas and the 30th nationwide.

"As parents, we understand that everyone wants what's best for his or her child. That's why we feel we're addressing a true need in Frisco with an educational childcare option that meets and exceeds the preferences of today's families," said Parkash, whose professional experience includes 30 years at Texas Instruments, with a United States patent in 2000 and co-authoring of an Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) publication in 2011. "What children learn at a young age, stays with them forever and we are thrilled to be building tomorrow's leaders today. My wife and I share the same conviction and we are excited to be able to offer other parents in our community the opportunity to shape their child's future through our dream center."

The Aroras' commitment to education stems from each of their backgrounds. Parkash's grandfather, the late Mr. Ram L. Seekri, was a high school principal and his father, Mr. Raj P. Seekri, who retired from Texas Instruments, is currently a professor of mathematics at The University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) and Richland College, and is the recipient of the 2008 Award for Excellence in the field of Education. Dr. Arora, a recipient of America's Top Dentist 2011 award, received her doctorate of dental surgery from The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. She runs a successful family practice in Frisco. Parkash earned his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Southern Methodist University and Executive M.B.A. from UTD. They are not alone in their belief that Iaunching an educational childcare center is a worthwhile investment. Children's Lighthouse Learning Centers is experiencing tremendous growth. The Frisco location is part of the company's extensive Texas franchise development plan calling for 13 new centers in the DFW area alone. There are currently eight additional units in various stages of opening statewide.

"Our growth is a direct reflection of the dedication we have to providing children with the highest quality education care," said Stephen Dixon, vice president of franchise development for Fort Worth-based Children's Lighthouse Learning Centers. "Our franchisees want to build a business they can feel good about and, through our centers, they can be confident they are making a positive impact on their community."

Children's Lighthouse Learning Centers' mission is to promote positive development of young children in all areas of growth including social, emotional, intellectual, physical and creative. The centers use and follow the A Beka curriculum, which is built on a foundation of academic excellence and character training.

Spanning 10,500 square feet and sitting on nearly two acres of land, the new Frisco center has 10 individual classrooms, play areas inside and out, and an on-site kitchen to provide students with fresh, healthy meals daily. The school features coded-door locking, computerized check-in and classroom surveillance, ensuring parents have peace of mind when dropping their child off. And, with Children's Lighthouse Learning Centers' internet monitoring connection, parents can even watch their children from the comfort of their own home or while at work.

Launched 17 years ago, Children's Lighthouse provides entrepreneurs with the opportunity to open in attractive metropolitan areas. Complete with initial and ongoing training and marketing support, ownership in a Children's Lighthouse franchise includes a full suite of support services, ranging from access to strategic leasing and financing partners to pinpoint site selection support. The company delivers its thorough market analysis with its powerful demographic software programs and real estate network, and its architectural partner assists in all aspects of the design work, leaving the entrepreneur to focus on what is most important--the business.
