New Fresh Coat Painters Franchise Brings Services to Leominster and its Massachusetts Neighbors

Mark Benoit is turning his decades of experience as a painter and carpenter into a new business opportunity as he and his wife, Lori, launch their Fresh Coat Painters franchise to serve North Central, Mass.

Cincinnati, Ohio (PRWEB) May 02, 2012 - Mark Benoit is turning his decades of experience as a painter and carpenter into a new business opportunity as he and his wife, Lori, launch their Fresh Coat Painters franchise to serve North Central, Mass. “There is always a need for painting services, so it does come down to the trust factor. People want to know who’s in their homes,” Mark said. “With Fresh Coat, we can help provide reassurance because we employ the personnel and we’ve done background checks.” As part of the launch, they will participate in the May 10 Business Resources Expo hosted by the Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce in Devens, Mass.

Fresh Coat Painters has extended its services in North Central Massachusetts with the opening of Mark and Lori Benoit’s franchise to serve Leominster, Princeton, Westminster, Fitchburg, Ayer, Littleton, Harvard, Lancaster, Sterling and their surrounding communities.

After 30-plus years as a self-employed painter and carpenter, Mark said he was ready to step down from the ladder and use his knowledge to lead a team of professionals.

“Most of my work came from repeat clients and their referrals, so I know the importance of providing quality service at reasonable prices,” he said. “Fresh Coat puts its emphasis on client satisfaction and how you treat the client. I also appreciated that they use only employees, never subcontractors, because I know that with subcontractors, you don’t necessarily know what you’re going to get. That matched with my experience and demonstrated their integrity.”

What Mark lacked was the marketing experience, he said, and Fresh Coat provided the expertise to help him promote and grow his business.

“That was all kind of new to me,” he said. “But it’s clear that marketing is about 80 percent of business success. I’ve gotten a lot of good ideas that combined with my knowledge and know-how should serve us and our clients well.”
Lori agreed, noting that her work with the Leominster Public Library and Our Father’s House shelter had taught her much about the importance of marketing. And, because of her work as an administrative assistance, she’ll help with the paperwork for the business.

Bernie Brozek, president of Fresh Coat, said the Benoits have a solid foundation for success.

“Like our other owners, they understand that a painting business isn’t just about painting. It’s about the whole experience from the initial phone call throughout the project and the follow-up,” Brozek said. “People want to know that they’ll be treated professionally and that work will be done correctly. That’s why our business model works so well. Our owners promote the business while the onsite personnel provide the best in quality and service. Clients get the best skills of all involved.”

Mark said the Fresh Coat business model has made it significantly easier to transition from being a self-employed painter to being a business owner and manager.

“I think I would have been overwhelmed,” he said. “But Fresh Coat has a whole system to make everything very efficient, especially with the technical sides of payroll, background checks, insurance and such. The available tools simplify the process, so we can help ensure client satisfaction. There is always a need for painting services, so it does come down to the trust factor. People want to know who’s in their homes. With Fresh Coat, we can help provide reassurance because we employ the personnel and we’ve done background checks. They’re also bonded and insured.”

Painters he’s interviewed also appreciate the model, Mark said. “They’re all experienced, qualified people with at least 20 years’ experience. They think it’s a great idea.”

Lori said she can understand their reasons both personally and professionally.

“I know I was tired of Mark’s schedule – working, then not working,” she said. “As Mark says, it’s feast or famine. With him doing the marketing, we should be able to provide steady work on a regular basis for our painters, which will simplify their lives. And, they’ll be able to build up their Social Security, and we’ll be paying for their insurance and workers’ compensation. And, they’ll have options for life and health insurance. All those things are appreciated by them and their families.”

Brozek said that those observations are common.

“We’ve found our business model does benefit all concerned – owners, painters and, most especially, clients,” he said. “Our goal is to complement our owners’ inherent abilities with quality marketing, training and resource materials, which include several client assistance programs such as a 24/7 call center, proprietary EPIC estimating system, Paint Now-Pay Later same-as-cash financing, Automatic Touch-Up for businesses, and fund-raising opportunities for charities.”

Those factors also were selling points for the Benoits.

“It’s great to have the call center, so someone is always available to answer the phone,” Mark said. “And the EPIC system is very efficient and very accurate making it possible to tell clients exactly how much the project will cost and how much time it will take.”

Mark also had spent some time in real estate, so he said he anticipates that Realtors would especially appreciate the Paint Now-Pay Later program because they often have homes that need work done now to help ensure their sale.

“All those factors are a benefit,” Mark said, “because ultimately how you treat your clients is the main thing that determines long-term success.”

As part of their launch, the Benoits will host a booth at the Business Resources Expo hosted by the Nashoba Valley Chamber of Commerce on May 10 in Devens, Mass.
