ifranchise Group Senior Advisor Honored for Work with International Franchise Center

Franchise Industry Executive Leonard Swartz receives recognition from the University of New Hampshire for years of dedication and service.

May 03, 2012 // Franchising.com // HOMEWOOD, IL – The iFranchise Group (www.ifranchisegroup.com), a leading franchise consulting firm, proudly announces that Leonard Swartz, a Senior Advisor for iFranchise Group and career franchise executive, has been honored by the University of New Hampshire, Whittemore School of Business and Economics, for ten years of dedication and service to the Rosenberg International Franchise Center.

In thanking Mr. Swartz, Daniel E. Innis, Dean of the Whittemore School of Business and Economics noted, “The Center’s research, teaching and outreach initiatives have widely received recognition both in national and international arenas. These achievements would not have been possible without your expertise and guidance provided throughout the formative years of the Center.”

According to the University’s website, the Rosenberg International Franchise Center was created according to the vision of William Rosenberg, a franchising pioneer and founder of Dunkin’ Donuts. Mr. Rosenberg saw the need for a specialized center that would advance the field of franchising through relevant research and innovative teaching. Mr. Swartz began his career at Dunkin’ Donuts under the guidance of Mr. Rosenberg, who also happened to be his godfather; he has carried forward Mr. Rosenberg’s vision while being instrumental to the Center’s success.

Over the course of Mr. Swartz’s career of more than 47 years in franchising, he has done work or lived in over 45 countries. Along with his experience at Dunkin’ Donuts, he has been the president of six different firms and a senior executive at four more, including prominent franchisors such as a temporary help division of Snelling & Snelling, ADECCO (Adia Services), Dunhill Personnel, Postal Instant Press (PIP Printing), Chicken Delight, and a division of ITT.

Mr. Swartz is a CPA and a Certified Franchise Executive, and is a noted authority on franchising, both in the U.S. and internationally. He has authored numerous articles on both international franchising and franchising in general. His specialty at the iFranchise Group, a Chicago-based franchise consulting firm, is in Strategic Planning and International Development.

Before joining the franchise consulting practice of the iFranchise Group, Mr. Swartz also spent a decade heading the franchise consulting arm of Arthur Andersen, and he was an advisor on international franchise consulting at Horwath International. Mr. Swartz has provided franchise consulting services to dozens of Fortune 2000 businesses, as well as to hundreds of smaller franchisors.

“Leonard continues to demonstrate his importance to the franchising community and we are proud to have him on our team. We congratulate him on this latest and well-deserved award,” states iFranchise Group CEO, Mark Siebert.
