AmericInn Hotels Honored by Department of Defense for Initiatives Benefiting Members of the Military and Their Families
MINNEAPOLIS, MN--(Marketwire - Jun 7, 2012) - AmericInn hotels, along with its President and CEO Paul Kirwin, have been honored with a top award from the Department of Defense agency Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) for sponsoring numerous initiatives benefiting members of the military services and their families.
The ESGR "Above and Beyond" Award was presented to Kirwin and AmericInn at a recent award ceremony in Minneapolis by James Rebholz, the organization's national chairman. AmericInn, which includes over 260 hotel locations either open or under development in 27 states, was honored from a field of over 400 nominations submitted by military members who felt their employers had gone "Above and Beyond" their obligations in supporting them and their families.
"We are honored to receive this award in recognition of the on-going efforts by AmericInn hotel owners, managers, employees and corporate staff to support the military," Kirwin said. Over 350 military, government and business representatives attended the award banquet.
The "Above and Beyond" Award, given to a small number of organizations by state and territory ESGR committees, recognizes employers who have generously exceeded the legal requirements for supporting employee military duty. The company was nominated for the award by Sergeant First Class Shawn Lidberg of the Army National Guard, who is an employee of AmericInn.
