Faegre Baker Daniels Product Liability Practice Receives National Recognition

The publication also recognized partners James A. O'Neal and Joseph M. Price for their individual work in drug and device litigation, designating them as 2012 Life Science Stars.

Legal Media Group noted that peers described Faegre Baker Daniels as having "one of the best product teams in the industry," and cited the team's high-quality work and representation of household industry names such as Eli Lilly, Boston Scientific and AstraZeneca.

In its description of the firm, the publication also called out "legendary partner" Joseph Price, considered by many to have "helped establish certain aspects of products liability litigation strategy." Price has practiced drug and device litigation for four decades, handling notable matters for clients like the 3M Company. He has overseen litigation concerning a wide range of products, including silicone breast implants, intrauterine devices, orthopaedic prostheses, urologic implants, cardiovascular devices, over-the-counter drugs and various chemicals.

O'Neal has handled complex product liability litigation for more than 30 years, including high-profile, national matters on behalf of Novartis Pharmaceuticals. He has also defended hormone therapy products and food companies during national recalls.

Firms were selected for recognition in the Life Sciences edition based on interviews with and surveys of clients, leading lawyers and industry partners, as well as public information. The publication recommended those firms that emerged during the research process as the market's leading actors in a particular practice area. Attorneys listed as Life Science Stars were recommended consistently in interviews and surveys as reputable and effective lawyers servicing the industry.
