Fort Worth, TX – July 31, 2012 – Just Between Friends (JBF) of Fort Worth, Texas’ largest children’s and maternity consignment sales event is hosting their nineteenth semi-annual sale, August 31st – September 8th. The discounted shopping event became a staple when the economy began to struggle as discount shoppers became desperate to stretch declining budgets. With uncertain times seemingly here to stay, Just Between Friends of Fort Worth’s semi-annual sale is expecting their largest turnout in nineteen seasons. With an average savings of 50% to 90% off of retail pricing, the sales event assist parents as they prepare their children for back-to-school. And for the first time, the sales event is offering a discounted shopping time just for grandparents.

Held at the Will Rogers Memorial Center in Fort Worth, August 31 – September 8, 2012, the semi-annual sale features hundreds of thousands of items that include name-brand and boutique children’s fall and winter attire, school uniforms, and Halloween costumes, baby equipment, electronics, and toys. A portion of the sale’s proceeds as well as unsold merchandise is donated to local charities, Community Enrichment Center’s Open Arms Program, Teen Lifeline, and Fort Worth Metro.

Started with modest beginnings in Morrison’s living room, Just Between Friends of Fort Worth has grown to a gigantic sale requiring over 75,000 square feet of space and over a mile of clothing racks. Now in their nineteenth season, the upcoming event will be attended by a record number of shoppers.

Quotes: Joanie Morrison, Co-Owner, Just Between Friends of Fort Worth

“Whatever you do, there is no need to pay retail for quality items for your children," Joanie Morrison, Co-Owner, Just Between Friends of Fort Worth. At our sale we pride ourselves in being able to save Metroplex parents an average of 50-90% per item. It’s exciting to watch moms come through the first time and be so thrilled as they are able to see options to paying outrageous retail prices. Once they try us, they are hooked! Being frugal is not only smart, it's become cool,” stated Morrison.

“We will be the first to admit that the faltering economy has played a part in our unprecedented growth,” remarks Morrison. “Each sale continues to bring more consignors and shoppers. People who never would have thought of consigning their children’s items have now become dedicated customers.”

“It is a sale where everyone wins - our consignors as they sell their items; our shoppers as they enjoy incredible savings; and our community as our three charities receive a portion of our proceeds and surplus merchandise,” she said.

Quotes: Pam Willingham, Co-Owner, Just Between Friends of Fort Worth

“Our sale continues to be the largest in Texas,” said Willingham. “We are proud of this designation. Most of all because we know what it means to Metroplex area families. These are tough times and a sales event such as ours allows parents to buy needed items for their children that they might not be able to otherwise. Families continue to come to JBF Fort Worth as our sales are known to provide quality, safe items for their children. Additionally, people are pleased we make the effort to further serve DFW families with our donations to our charity partners.”

“It’s been fascinating to watch our sales evolve through the years. At first it was all about shoppers being thrifty. Then it became about repurposing items as we all focused on becoming more conscientious consumers. Then as the economy downturned, it became a matter of necessity for Metroplex families. At this point, shopping consignment is not only smart, it’s the trendy thing to do!” said Willingham.

“As a grandmother, I am particularly excited that for the first time we are offering a special shopping time just for grandparents. With more grandparents raising their grandchildren, this was an idea whose time had come,” stated Willingham. “Even if people aren’t raising their grandkids, it’s a great way for them to buy presents for them or to outfit the perfect grandma room.”
