GNC and Wounded Warrior Project Partner for 7th Annual Charity Golf Outing

Event to Raise Awareness and Money for America's Veterans as they Recover and Transition Back to Civilian Life

PITTSBURGH, Aug. 21, 2012 // PRNewswire // -- GNC Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: GNC), the nation's largest specialty retailer of health, wellness and sports nutrition products, announced today it is partnering with the Western Pennsylvania Committee of the Wounded Warrior Project as lead sponsor of the non-profit organization's seventh annual golf outing taking place on Monday, September 17, at the Diamond Run Golf Club in Sewickley, PA. The charity event, which benefits severely wounded servicemen and women, raises public awareness and funding to help these U.S. veterans to overcome the limits of injury or disability and transition back to civilian life. To date, GNC has helped raise more than $479,000 to support the Wounded Warrior Project's programs and services.

All proceeds benefit the Wounded Warrior Project, as well as charitable organizations including the Mario Lemieux Foundation, University of Pittsburgh's Wounded Warriors and Veterans Educational Assistance Fund and Darkhorse Benefits.
