Children of America Celebrates the Back-to-School Season at Locations Across the United States

August 21, 2012 - Children of America Educational Childcare & Academy (COA) is celebrating the back-to-school season at its 58 locations across the United States. Parents and children are invited to tour their local school and experience the variety of programs that set Children of America apart from other child-care facilities.

For students enrolling at COA new locations, will receive 10 percent off tuition rates, for the first 50 families that register. Children of America will also meet or beat the advertised price of any national competitor of any COA location.

"Some children worry about the start of a new school year while others have boundless excitement for what the next year will bring," said Thad Pryor, Children of America CEO and founder. "Our staff is prepared to help them transition into the new school year and setting with a strong curriculum and special care placed on helping children develop on an intellectual, physical, social and emotional level."

COA caters to various age groups and learning styles, including infants, toddlers, preschool and elementary children. The organization offers state-of-the-art facilities with the highest levels of security. Parents can monitor their children and classroom activities throughout the day using the schoolâ€™s Internet video surveillance program.

Beyond providing child care and educational services, COA also strives to serve as a resource center for parents. Children of Americaâ€™s Mind & Body Matters initiative was recently launched to help serve this purpose. It provides three distinct programs that encourage a healthy lifestyle through proper nutrition and fitness, and emphasize the importance of continuing to learn outside of the classroom. The COA Just Read Program offers a series of interactive books for students that can be accessed online or through smartphones and tablet devices. The program encourages parents to spend at least 15 minutes a day reading with their children to continue building literacy and reading skills.

The "An Apple A Day" Nutrition Program is taking Children of Americaâ€™s nutrition initiative to a new level by bringing in Jaime Windrow, a registered dietitian. She advises parents about healthy cooking tips and recipes, private nutrition consultations and nutritious meal plans at school.

The schools follow a U.S. Department of Agriculture-approved menu that ensures children are provided wholesome meals and snacks. The menu includes plenty of whole grains and fat-free and low-fat milk. Meals can be adjusted to meet specific needs.

The COA Presidential Fitness Program helps instill a love of physical fitness at an early age, while emphasizing the importance of building endurance and cardiovascular strength through a variety of activities.

"These programs stress the importance of helping children develop a love of reading, develop healthy eating habits and a respect for physical fitness," Pryor said.
