Calling All UFC Fans: Think You’re Tough Enough?

Boston Pizza launches Octagon pizza nationwide & gives Canadian fans a chance to meet Dana White

September 19, 2012 // Franchising.com // TORONTO – Boston Pizza, the Official Sports Bar of UFC® Canada, is bringing fans across the country two ultimate experiences: Octagon pizza during every Pay-Per-View event and the chance to meet UFC® President Dana White at UFC® 154 in Montreal by participating in its Tough Enough contest. The contest, beginning today through to October 21, asks fans to prove that they are “tough enough” for the UFC® by posting embarrassing, predetermined Facebook status updates on their profiles.

In addition, Octagon pizzas, first introduced exclusively in Calgary during UFC® 149, will now be available at participating locations throughout Canada during all UFC® Pay-Per-View events starting with UFC 152 Jones vs. Belfort taking place this Saturday, September 22, in Toronto.

“As an official partner of UFC® Canada, we have access to prizes and experiences for our guests that they can’t get anywhere else such as the chance to meet Dana White in Montreal later this year,” said Steve Silverstone, Executive Vice President of Marketing at Boston Pizza. “We also strive to bring fans a unique viewing experience in our sports bars and are thrilled to serve up Octagon pizzas nationwide for all UFC® Pay-Per-View events.”

Prove you’re Tough Enough

Following a successful first round this summer, Tough Enough is back and the stakes are even higher. The national contest, sponsored by Boston Pizza and located on the UFC Canada Facebook page, kicks off on Monday, September 17 and gives fans the opportunity to win the ultimate UFC 154 weekend in Montreal which includes meeting UFC® President Dana White.

To prove if they are “Tough Enough” for the UFC®, Canadian UFC® fans will be asked to choose from a list of embarrassing, predetermined Facebook status updates and post them to their profile such as, “Longest day ever. So much stress. Need hug from mom ASAP” and “Just brought home Mr. Whiskers. How many cats do you need before you’re considered a cat lady?”. The grand prize winner will have the exclusive opportunity to meet Dana White and receive two floor seats near The Octagon® for UFC® 154 in Montreal, , flight and accommodations, $200 in Boston Pizza gift cards, $500 in spending cash and UFC® merchandise.

Canadians are encouraged to participate daily in updating their Facebook status, and each status update will act as an entry to the contest. The contest will be held at www.facebook.com/ufccanada

Octagon Pizzas are available in large size on classic dough in any of Boston Pizza’s gourmet and create-your-own pizza varieties. They can be ordered for dine-in at participating Boston Pizza locations in Canada during UFC® Pay-Per-View events beginning with UFC® 152 on Saturday, September 22, 2012.
