Lowering Home Energy Bills Is As Easy As 'Green Light, Red Light'

In honor of Energy Action Month, Pro Energy Consultants helps families decide what energy improvements are a “GO” and what investments they should avoid.

Cleveland, OH (PRWEB) October 03, 2012 - Homes are responsible for more than 20% of the total domestic energy usage and are known to be incredibly energy inefficient. As family budgets tighten and environmental consciousness rises, homeowners increasingly want to make smart energy improvements – but don’t know where to start. October is National Energy Action Month and Pro Energy Consultants’ month-long “GREEN Light, Red Light” campaign uses the classic childhood game as a means to educate families on the ‘dos and don’ts’ of energy, and how a home’s energy performance impacts the family’s overall well-being.

“A home’s energy efficiency, comfort and indoor air quality are all interrelated, and require a combination of behavior changes and smart home improvement investments,” stated Mark Cannella, founder of the Pro Energy Consultants franchise system and owner of the Northeast, Ohio franchise. “Most of the families we service are confused by all the conflicting information out there, and are often on the brink of making large home improvement investments that are NOT the true cause of their problems. Between skyrocketing electric rates and the alarming indoor air quality research, families simply can’t afford to ignore these issues, or to make bad decisions.”

Energy Action Month is led by The Department of Energy (DOE) and emphasizes the need for people and communities to take action. In addition to providing educational tips, Pro Energy Consultants’ “GREEN light, Red Light” campaign supports the DOE’s mission by having a special emphasis on fun and easy ways to get the entire family involved in preventing energy waste. The information will be distributed via daily tweets, blog postings, whitepapers and the Pro Energy Consultants’ website throughout October.

“Education is really at the heart of what we do,” states Cannella. “Not only do we typically save families thousands of dollars with our recommendations, but we also improve their overall comfort, enjoyment and health – while doing something good for the environment. That’s the Pro Energy Mission, and as the industry leader we are proud to support Energy Action Month.”
