Chico, the Coffee Shop Can Now Come to You Thanks to Cafe2U

Couple Brings Cafe2U Mobile Espresso Van to Chico; Second Location in California for Growing Franchise

CHICO, CA - (Marketwire - Oct 23, 2012) - The gourmet coffee shop on wheels has rolled into Chico.

A new coffee concept made its debut this month when Tom and Lisa Nitschman's Cafe2U van began serving customers -- delivering gourmet espresso drinks to office parks, construction sites and other business locations where workers can't easily get to a favorite coffee shop.

The Nitschmans are the sixth American franchisee for Cafe2U, a fast-growing international franchise system. Cafe2U USA wants 1,000 vans eventually operating in the U.S.; entrepreneurs can learn more at www.Cafe2UFranchise.com.

"We did some research before we bought the franchise, looking at medical businesses and offices that we might serve," Lisa Nitschman said. "We asked what their take was on the idea of a mobile espresso van, and they said, 'Oh, please come.'"

Tom Nitschman ticked off a list of Cafe2U's advantages:

"We have no space rent, we get to drive around, meet and talk to people and have fun at work. And the hours are not too long. Most days, we'll be off by 3 in the afternoon."

About Cafe2U

Cafe2U was founded in Sydney in 2000 and began franchising five years later, quickly growing from 12 vans in the Sydney area to more than 190 vans operating throughout Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Germany and New Zealand. Cafe2U USA is headquartered in Bend, OR.

Cafe2U mobile espresso vans deliver coffee and gourmet lunch items to business customers on fixed weekday routes, and serves events on nights and weekends.

Cafe2U won a bronze medal at the 2010 CSR Golden Bean Roasting Competition, where its coffee blend competed against 1,200 entries in international competition. Each Cafe2U van carries a $7,000 espresso machine, a $1,000 grinder and other equipment typically found at high-end coffee shops.

"We don't sell 'average' coffee," said Scott Bundy, president and CEO of Cafe2U USA. "People can get ho-hum coffee out of a coffee pot. We bring excellence to people who know what they've been missing."
