Three Dog Bakery Introduces New Flagship Store and Unveils Redesigned Website

KC’s original bakery for dogs hopes to fetch more business with expanded location; more user-friendly website.

Kansas City, MO (PRWEB) November 12, 2012 - Three Dog Bakery, known the world over for its oven-baked food and treats offered through pet-friendly bakery boutiques, announced today the grand re-opening of its flagship store and the launch of a newly redesigned e-commerce website.

In October, 2012, the Three Dog Bakery flagship store, a mainstay on the Country Club Plaza for nearly a decade, doubled its size by moving into a larger space only a few doors away. With double-digit sales growth, company executives decided the destination bakery required more room to provide an enhanced experience for dogs and their parents. Committed to remaining a part of the vibrant Plaza community, the decision was made not to roam very far.

“We have a great customer base here on the Plaza, so we asked ourselves ‘Why would we move and lose what we have?’” said Jamie Wiebrecht, Director of Franchise Operations and Client Experience. “After we had scouted more than 10 locations on the Plaza, the Chico’s store announced its relocation from right near our existing bakery, and we knew our search was over.”

The new, larger space allowed for the addition of a training facility which enables the executive chef to train other Three Dog Bakery chefs from across the country on how to make the pastries found in the bakeries, like pupcakes, banana mutt bread and birthday cakes. The expansion will enable all dogs and their “parents” to sample treats as they watch the chefs at work, creating the naturally delicious treats that dogs adore.

From a franchise development perspective, Wiebrecht and team wanted something that represents the very best of Three Dog Bakery to serve as a model for anyone interested in joining the team. This new location does just that, and more.

“There hasn’t been a better time to enter this fast-growing consumer market. The feedback we’ve received on our new location further underlines our dedication to old and new customers and to those interested in our franchise model,” said Wiebrecht.

“Not only does it provide a model store for franchisees, but we’ve also optimized every inch of retail space and this new training facility underlines our commitment to helping our franchisees grow their business,” Wiebrecht added.

Another sign of Three Dog Bakery’s continued investment to grow its business is the company’s newly redesigned website, created by local digital consultants DEG (formerly known as Digital Evolution Group). The new site offers an easier-to-navigate, more user friendly experience. According to Angela Fickess, Three Dog Bakery’s marketing manager, threedog.com has been transformed from being a basic e-commerce site into something that makes it exponentially easier to buy online.

“Nothing replicates the experience of visiting one of our franchisees’ bakeries,” said Fickess. “But, we also know pet owners appreciate the convenience of buying specialty pet items online, and our new website makes the path to purchase easier for those who don’t live near a bakery. The addition of a wish list offers one more way to love your dog.”
