PrideStaff North Dallas Raises Funds for Susan G. Komen Dallas County

PrideStaff's North Dallas office recently accepted the challenge to sponsor and raise funds in support of the Komen Dallas Race for the Cure® on October 20, 2012 in the fight against breast cancer.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) November 27, 2012 - PrideStaff's North Dallas office recently accepted the challenge to sponsor and raise funds in support of the Komen Dallas Race for the Cure® on October 20, 2012 in the fight against breast cancer.

The Dallas County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen is the local source for funding breast cancer education, screening and treatment in Dallas County, serving thousands of Dallas County women in 30 cities. The Dallas County Affiliate of Susan G. Komen has invested more than $19 million in breast health programs and services for medically-underserved Dallas County residents.

"We take great pride in helping the local community and raising money for this outstanding organization that is near and dear to all of us," says Amy Linn, Owner PrideStaff North Dallas. "With the hard work of our team and the generous support of our clients, employees, friends and families, we were able to raise over $3,700."

Through events like the Komen Dallas Race for the Cure, Susan G. Komen Dallas County invests 75 percent of the funds raised to support vital local breast health services, and dedicates the remaining 25 percent to national research to find the cures. Since 1992, Komen Dallas County has invested more than $19 million into Dallas County via its annual community grants program, including a record-breaking $2 million during the 2012-13 grant cycle.

"Everyone we spoke with about raising money for this great cause had a story about themselves or a loved one that has been affected by cancer," continued Linn. "It was very important to us to raise money for such an outstanding local organization that invests nearly 100% of funds raised to finding a cure."
