Oklahoma City Welcomes its 2nd Raising Cane’s Friday
Grand opening of free-standing restaurant across from mall set for November 30th.
OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (November 27, 2012) – Building off its success in the Quail Springs Mall food court, Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers is opening its second Oklahoma City restaurant directly across the street on Friday, November 30th. This will be the sixth Raising Cane’s located in the greater Oklahoma City area.
The new location at 14100 N. Pennsylvania Avenue will be Louisiana-based Raising Cane’s 7th in Oklahoma (with additional restaurants in Moore, Edmond, Norman and Tulsa), and the 145th overall across 17 states. The Quail Springs Mall location opened just four months ago, and it has been a huge success.
Lance Morgan, General Manager of the company’s newest location, says his restaurant is in great demand, since the only other nearby Cane’s is in the mall.
“People keep telling me they love our chicken fingers and secret-recipe Cane’s sauce, but they don’t always have the time to run inside the mall,” said Morgan. “Our free-standing restaurant is just what local Caniacs have been begging for, and I can’t wait to introduce even more of the locals to our ONE LOVE.”
Known for its ONE LOVE® – quality chicken finger meals – Raising Cane’s is in the midst of a rapid expansion across Oklahoma and other states. The company is a recognized industry leader in customer service and is distinguished by its generous support of the communities it serves.
On Saturday, November 24th, Morgan and his crewmembers picked up trash and planted flowers at Redlands Park, as part of Oklahoma City Parks & Recreation’s Adopt-a-Park program.
“Active support of our local communities is a huge part of Raising Cane’s DNA, and you’ll see us get more and more involved in Oklahoma City’s schools and non-profit organizations as we continue to expand in the area,” said Morgan. “In addition to the Adopt-a-Park project, we are supporting local schools with events like the Raising Cane’s Three-Point Challenge at John Marshall High School, where seniors have an opportunity to win a $500 college scholarship.”
A grand opening ribbon-cutting ceremony will be conducted at the restaurant at 9:15 AM on Friday, November 30th, in conjunction with the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce. First-time visitors to the ceremonies are in for a treat, as 45-50 newly hired crewmembers will be performing their traditional cheers and other high-energy chants to launch the new location in unique Cane’s fashion.
Doors will open to the public at 10:00 AM. The first 100 paying dine-in customers will receive a commemorative Oklahoma City Cane’s T-shirt, along with a voucher for a free Box Combo that may be redeemed on a subsequent visit. (The voucher is not valid on Opening Day.)
Between November 30th and December 7th, customers at the Pennsylvania Avenue restaurant will also be invited to participate in the company’s “Give Back Giveaway” tradition, in which one customer will win a $1,000 donation to his or her local charity of choice, along with Free Cane’s for a Year.
