Wendy’s Unveils New Restaurant Design in Santa Monica

Lincoln/Santa Monica Boulevard location re-opening to the public on January 7, 2013. Official celebration to benefit Boys and Girls Club happening in February.

Santa Monica, California (PRWEB) January 07, 2013 - Customers can experience an ultra-modern new Wendy’s® when they visit the remodeled restaurant at 1340 Lincoln Boulevard in Santa Monica, California set to re-open on Monday, January 7, 2013. The residents can also come out in early February (date to be determined) to help support a local cause: the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Monica.

The restaurant was opened to the public on December 27, 2012. There will also be an official celebration and ribbon cutting in the first few weeks in February. During the celebration event, a portion of all proceeds will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Santa Monica. The festivities include a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by members of the City Council and the Chamber of Commerce, various giveaways (anyone interested in a famed “Where’s the Beef” t-shirt,) and various tables of kid-friendly activities directed by the finalists for the Youth of the Year Competition conducted by the Boys and Girls Clubs of Santa Monica annually.

The Youth of the Year program is a year-round tool which fosters the character, personal growth and leadership qualities of our young people, recognizing Club members for their achievements in community service, academic success, strong moral character, life goals & public speaking ability. "We are so thrilled for this partnership with Wendy's and that our kids will get to participate in this exciting grand opening", says Aaron Young, the CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica.

The newly remodeled locations feature an innovative exterior design inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, and incorporates many modern features in the interior including flat panel TV’s, Wi-Fi access and docking stations, and a variety of seating options. “This remodel is all about enhancing the customer experience” said Division Vice President Operations, Diane Weed. “It’s very different from what our customers are used to but we think they’ll really like the look, the feel, and the new offerings of the restaurant.”

The company conducted nationwide research and studied every aspect of the customer’s restaurant experience. Based on this feedback, Wendy’s completely overhauled the interiors and exteriors of four different designs. This restaurant features floor to ceiling windows at the front allowing ample daylight to penetrate the restaurant. The restaurant has a new customer ordering process, and a few test products only offered in these restaurants.

“These new remodels are part of a multi-year strategy to reinvigorate our brand and the way our customers interact with us,” Weed said. “This brand strategy involves completely re-imaging our entire menu, new advertising and marketing, new restaurant apparel and product packaging. We are making great progress in all of these areas, and we think our customers will be surprised and excited about their new Wendy’s.”
