Gold’s Gym Invests, Provides Jobs In Local Community

On Saturday, January 19, 2013 Gold’s Gym will celebrate the Grand Opening of their newest Colorado location in Montrose.

(PRWEB) January 18, 2013 - Berry, who also owns Gold’s Gyms fitness locations in Grand Junction and Clifton, decided to expand into Montrose after receiving numerous requests from the public. The newest franchise is located at 1840 East Main Street, which was the old Gibson’s location, but has been vacant for over a decade. The population of Montrose, Colorado is approximately 19,000. The new Gold’s Gym in Montrose is the largest in any city of this size; in fact it is three times the size of most gyms in this market size.

The entire project was a substantial $6.5 million including land, building, construction and equipment. Demolition began on July 1, 2012 and was complete in November. Owner Bryce Berry made it a point to use local contractors for the work. Paul Martensen of Martensen Construction out of Montrose was the project superintendent. Other contractors used include Pederson Electric, Juliano Concrete, Iron Industries, Slickrock, Coolings Heat & Air, RJ Painting, ArmorProseal, Accurate Insulation, Dynamic Fire Protection and Elite Drywall.

The Gold’s Gym Montrose location employs a staff of 45 full and part time workers from the local community. According to Jenni Sopsic, Executive Director at the Montrose Chamber of Commerce, “The positions added by Gold’s Gym, and the investment made into the facilities, make them one of the largest contributors to the local economy in 2012. We are thrilled to have them here. Like many smaller communities we have a higher unemployment rate, and the job creation from Gold’s Gym gives us a boost and helps improve that.”

Grand Opening celebrations are scheduled for Saturday, January 19, 2013 and Grand Junction marketing firm, BlueFinn Creative Group is helping spread the word. The main events will take place from 9:00am-2:00pm. During that time Qdoba will provide food, and Gold’s will raffle off 1-month, 3-month and 1-year gym memberships, personal training packages, free tanning, free massages, and gift certificates from many local businesses. The public is invited to work out free for the day. Other activities taking place Saturday are facility tours and equipment demonstrations. Personal trainers will be on hand to help answer any health questions people might have. Also, special group classes, such as RPM™, BodyCOMBAT™, BodyPUMP™, BodyFLOW™ and Sh'Bam™ will be held in 30-minute intervals all day long for anyone wanting to try them out. All classes on the current schedule are from the Les Mills program, and Gold’s Gym Montrose is the only Les Mills certified gym in the area.

The Gold’s Gym Montrose fitness location is one of the best in the nation, offering a large variety of equipment, group classes, personal training options and full amenities including locker rooms, showers, sauna, steam room and hot tub. The gym also features a Juice Bar, Sunkiss’d Tanning facilities, a massage bed and Kid’s Club child care area. In fact Gold’s is the only gym in Montrose to offer child care. With over 70 pieces of cardio equipment, 60+ pieces of weight equipment and more than 60 classes per month, Gold’s Gym Montrose offers customers the best workout options in the area. According to Operations Manager, Molly Wierenga, “We want to provide an opportunity for people from all walks of life to change for the better. We are hospitality-based, meaning customer service is our number one priority.”
