Zippy Shell Mobile Self-Storage – Announcing Zippy U! Brand Extension to Serve Collegiate Storage Market

(“Zippy Shell?”) announced today that it has created a new brand extension called Zippy U? which will target the growing need for college student storage. Zippy U?, which will launch at four schools this April, is designed to provide the convenience of the Zippy Shell portable storage solution at a price point that college students and their parents can afford.

According to Ben Phillips, the Zippy Shell Chief Marketing Officer, “We, and our franchisees, are providing very flexible and affordable storage for students. This also includes on campus pick-up and delivery service as part of the storage fee. Students can purchase several different storage packages on the Zippy U website zippyu.zippyshell.com. This is truly student storage made easy”.

The service is simple. Students begin by printing out their storage labels and then pick up their storage boxes on campus. They then select from a number of available pickup dates and times at their dorms. Students can load their goods into boxes or store one-off items like furniture or sports equipment. Everything is locked in a container and stored in climate controlled secure facilities. When students return for the fall semester the local Zippy Shell provider re-delivers all items back to the dorms.

“The goal of the Zippy U program is to eliminate the stress and hassle typically associated with college student storage”, said Rick Del Sontro, President of Zippy Shell USA. “At the end of a semester, college students should be focused on their finals not worried about renting a truck and driving it to a storage facility. Additionally, their parents shouldn’t have to worry about driving to their children’s school to get them loaded into storage. The Zippy U solution is designed for the parents and the students.”

The Zippy U program will launch this year at Duke University, University of North Carolina, North Carolina State University and Meredith College. Student summer storage will start as low as $150 and will include pick up and re-delivery of their items upon return to school. Students or their parents can access the Zippy U website ZippyU.ZippyShell.com to register for storage. Once a registration is completed the student will select pick-up and delivery dates, print out labels for their items and drop their items at the designated pick-up location for their school.
