Elevation Burger Joins International Chef to Plate Gluten-Free Awareness Campaign, Honors May as National Celiac Awareness Month

Elevation Burger Franchises Nationwide to Highlight Gluten-Free Menu Items

Including Lettuce-Wrapped Burgers with Organic Bacon, “Fresh Fries” and Select Beverages

ARLINGTON, VA - Elevation Burger, the rapidly growing, national fast-casual restaurant known for its great-tasting, 100% USDA-certified organic, grass-fed, free-range burgers, reaffirms its commitment to providing gluten-intolerant guests with delicious meal options, announced its participation in the international Chef to Plate Gluten-Free Awareness Campaign. Sponsored by the GlutenIntolerance Group (GIG) of North America (www.gluten.net), the campaign honors National CeliacAwareness Month (May).

“One of the founding tenets of Elevation Burger is to offer our guests great-tasting and healthy menu options, and that includes those with gluten sensitivities,” said founder and CEO Hans Hess. “It is a source of tremendous pride for us knowing that those suffering from gluten intolerance can come in to Elevation Burger, order a burger with organic bacon, fries and a soft drink and enjoy their meal carefree.” Gluten-free menu items include lettuce-wrapped burgers, which can be topped with yellow mustard, “fresh fries” cooked in heart-healthy olive oil, and a wide range of soft drinks, including Wild Bill’s Root Beer and Cinnamon Orange Iced Tea.

Now in its fourth year, the grass-roots Chef to Plate campaign is designed to help spread awareness of gluten sensitivities to people throughout the world by partnering with restaurants that offer gluten-free menu options. According to GIG, more than three million Americans suffer from celiac disease, and non-celiac gluten sensitivity may affect as many as 7% of the world’s population. Throughout the month of May, Elevation Burger franchises around the country will display posters and counter tents featuring educational materials detailing facts and statistics about gluten sensitivities. Last year, morethan 1,400 restaurants in four countries participated in the campaign.

Elevation Burger prides itself on an “elevated” experience and a fresh approach that puts people and product ahead of profit. The franchised chain offers many healthier alternatives to standard fast food choices, including two variations of a veggie burger, lettuce-wrapped burgers, unprocessed six-month aged cheddar cheese, and cookies made with organic butter and eggs. Elevation Burger is also the only better burger restaurant to feature organic, hardwood-smoked uncured bacon on its menu.
