Panera Bread® Opens First Rancho Santa Margarita Cafe

Café to support Hoag Hospital Foundation through Community Breadbox Program

Rancho Santa Margarita, California (PRWEB) April 21, 2013 – Panera Bread will open a café in Rancho Santa Margarita on Monday April 22. The café will support the Hoag Hospital Foundation throughout the year through the Panera Bread Community Breadbox Program.

“We’re excited to serve the Rancho Santa Margarita Community and to support a local group as part of our presence here,” said Sandy McElfresh, Director of Sales and Marketing, Manna Development, LLC a Panera Bread Area Developer and franchisee. “We want to serve the community not just by becoming a neighborhood gathering place for fellowship and good food, but also by supporting important community initiatives, like the Hoag Hospital Foundation.”

Panera Bread is dedicated to the communities it serves. The Community Breadbox program ensures that donations made at Panera Bread feed back in to the community. Contributions generated through the program have provided basic necessities for those in need, and have created special places and opportunities. The new Rancho Santa Margarita café is the 13th location in the Orange County area operated by the franchise group Our Daily Bread, and it joins its 12 sister cafes in supporting the Hoag Hospital Foundation.

With its identity rooted in handcrafted, freshly-baked, artisan bread, Panera Bread is committed to providing great tasting, quality food that people can trust. Highlighted by antibiotic-free chicken, whole grain bread, select organic and all-natural ingredients and a menu with zero grams added trans-fat, Panera’s bakery-cafe selection offers flavorful, wholesome offerings. The menu includes a variety of year-round favorites to complement seasonal items and breads baked fresh daily in each bakery-cafe by skilled bakers. The new bakery-cafe offers a warm and welcoming environment with comfortable seating and free Internet access and will also offer Panera Bread’s three new Premium Signature Pasta dishes – Tortellini Alfredo, Pesto Sacchettini and Rustic Penne Bolognese.

The new bakery-café will be open from 6 a.m. – 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 7 a.m. – 9 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays and is located at 30642 Santa Margarita Parkway in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif.

In addition to benefiting the Hoag Hospital Foundation, on a daily basis, the new Panera Bread café will support local community needs daily through its Day-End Dough-Nation™ program. Last year, Panera bakery-cafes collectively donated a retail value of approximately $100 million worth of unsold bread and baked goods to help neighbors in need.
