Students, Faculty and Staff Provided Healthy Options From New Healthy Vending Machines

New York, NY (PRWEB) June 03, 2013 - Fresh Healthy Vending takes it to the next level with a healthy vending machine installed at the New York Film Academy. The New York Film Academy is considered to be the best film school in the world by many of today's top filmmakers, and boasts an impressive list of alumni and guest speakers on a regular basis.

George Aliperti is the proud owner of the New York Film Academy location. Living in Manhattan isn’t always easy, and servicing his 13 healthy vending machines is sometimes challenging. George has a background in construction and Real Estate, however he joined the Fresh Healthy Vending family a little over a year ago. “I have 2 children and I noticed the snacks they were eating weren’t healthy, so I further investigated and found Fresh Healthy Vending. I liked the whole principle, and I wanted to make a difference,” said Aliperti. “When I found this opportunity, I was excited because I thought it would be profitable, and people are always looking for better, healthier options.”

Fresh Healthy Vending and the New York Film Academy couldn’t agree more. The New York Film Academy is no stranger to hosting some big name speakers in the film industry. Their guest speakers include Steven Spielberg, Ben Stiller and Andy Garcia, just to name a few. “Not only do the students love it, but so do the faculty and staff-and I have definitely seen our visitors taking trips to the machine as well! The New York Film Academy is proud to have these nutritious options for our students and we hope to continue with the Fresh program” said Stephanie Foltz, of the New York Film Academy Admissions Department.

Fresh Healthy Vending’s quest is to help Americans become healthier by providing more nutritious and wholesome snacks and drinks purchased through vending machines. “They (the students) work such long hours, and when I'd see them come into the school with potato chips and soda pop, I knew it couldn't be doing much for their bodies, and that sugar crash is not the best for a long editing session or rehearsal. Now I see students on campus with fresh berry juices, veggie chips, and natural energy drinks and I definitely see a little more pep in their steps!” said Foltz.

George is just as ecstatic about having the New York Film Academy as a location, “The machine performs great there, and the students love the items. I definitely put 100% into everything I do, and I am fortunate to have machines in excellent locations.”

Another one of Aliperti’s locations is in a Hospital ER waiting room. “The best machine I have is in a Hospital ER, it’s on fire! Though it is a private Hospital, they requested that I follow the New York Vending Machine guidelines that any public building has to abide by. They wanted to conform to the guidelines and offer more nutritious options, and it’s worked!”

Other forward-thinking cities throughout the nation have already developed guidelines for healthy vending machine foods. In Seattle, the public health offices of King County created the Healthy Vending Tool kit, and Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel laid out new requirements for healthy vending in Chicago city offices, parks and schools just this year.
