Chuck E. Cheese’s Named Second-Healthiest Casual-Dining Pizza Chain in Market Force Information Study

DALLAS - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Jun. 6, 2013 - On the heels of being named the number one kid-friendly restaurant by Technomic’s Consumer Restaurants Brand Metrics program, a study conducted by Market Force Information on consumers’ opinions about casual-dining chains found that Chuck E. Cheese’s tied in second place for healthiness of food in the individual Pizza category. Chuck E. Cheese’s was also voted the overall fifth-favorite casual-dining pizza chain by consumers.

Market Force Information’s survey was conducted in March 2013 across the United States. The study of more than 7,000 consumers across a broad spectrum of income levels and ages was designed to uncover which casual-dining chains they like most – both overall and by specific food category – as well as why they prefer one to another. Respondents' ages ranged from 18 to more than 65. Approximately 75 percent were women, 25 percent were men and nearly half have children.

“Being recognized as an industry leader in consumer studies is a great testament of how Chuck E. Cheese’s continues to work to provide delicious, wholesome food options for the whole family,” said Joe Elliot, Chuck E. Cheese’s vice president of Research and Development. “While we’ve always provided an environment ‘Where a Kid Can Be a Kid,’ our food options have helped to deliver a consistent, great-tasting and healthier pizza product that families and guests can enjoy, and we’re proud of that.”

Recently, Chuck E. Cheese’s installed redesigned menu boards in all of its stores that provide food nutritional values in an easy-to-read display for families. The boards were also updated to reflect recent menu additions – like the company’s gluten-free pizza and cupcake options. In addition to these well-received additions, Chuck E. Cheese’s also upgraded its traditional pizza recipe with dough made in-store as well as freshly shredded 100-percent mozzarella and vegetables.

While the nutritional values of all menu items can be found on Chuck E. Cheese’s new menu boards in stores, the company also provides a comprehensive online listing of each ingredient for all menu items to help parents determine the most appropriate foods for their unique family’s dining experience and dietary needs.

Guests can also find more information and fun facts about Chuck E. Cheese’s food offerings on the company's website or Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and foursquare profiles.
