New Business Model Yields Revenue Gains for PostNet Printing Franchise

700-Location Franchise Has Grown From Pack-and-Ship Roots to Full Marketing Service Provider for Entrepreneurs

DENVER, CO - (Marketwired - Jun 18, 2013) - Sometimes, in order to thrive, a business needs to evolve. PostNet, which started in 1993 as a pack-and-ship franchise, is a case in point. As technology allowed the company to serve customers in new ways, PostNet added copiers, then digital printers, then graphic design services -- along the way transforming into much more: a digital printing and business services franchise that also offers marketing expertise to help small and medium-sized businesses get and keep more customers.

It's been a lucrative shift for a company that has consistently won awards and recognition from Entrepreneur magazine, Franchise Business Review, Franchise Times and others in the franchise industry.

"Our franchise owners that have moved to the new business model are generating greater revenue and profits," said CEO Steve Greenbaum. "There is so much need for a company that is focused on providing advice on the best ways to market and grow a business -- whether that's fliers, direct mail, a trade show display, a website -- or something as simple as professional-looking marketing materials."

The market is huge. Self-employment and small businesses have been on the rise in the United States since 2001, and there were 27 million businesses with less than 100 employees in the U.S. in 2008, according to census data. Many of those businesses are young. According to Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, in 2012 4.3% of Americans owned or managed a business that was between three and 42 months old.

PostNet's new business model is aimed squarely at serving entrepreneurs. Small and medium-sized business owners wear a lot of hats and 70-hour weeks are common. PostNet gives them easy access to a sophisticated array of marketing tools, saving them time. And PostNet offers more than tools -- it offers expertise.

"There are a lot of places you can go if you just need something printed," Greenbaum says. "But if you need advice, help developing a logo, an integrated marketing campaign, and a partner who understands new technologies and the urgency of business, PostNet is an invaluable resource. We're passionate about small business, focused on ROI and bring tremendous resources and value to our customers."
