Costa Vida Revamps Restaurant Design for a Fresh Take on Fast Casual Dining

July 17, 2013 // Franchising.com // UTAH COUNTY, Utah – Costa Vida Fresh Mexican Grill announces a vibrant redesign that aims to give diners a quick escape to the coast. On the heels of successful branding updates to select stores, the bold and vibrant design will bring the energy of the Baja-peninsula to the tables of all future Costa Vida locations.

“Drawing inspiration from our original beach design of blue waters and orange sunsets, we took our Baja-inspired heritage to the next level with a more robust take on the coastal experience,” said Jason Stowe, VP of Development, who spearheaded most of the design work. “The brighter colors and surf-appeal work hand in hand to distinguish Costa Vida’s fresh experience from other fast casual Mexican eateries.”

Interior re-designs were made beginning in 2011 with nine restaurants. This effort took a leap forward with the design services of Supergraphics, Inc. starting in mid-2012. The team created a light and lively look to better communicate Costa Vida’s roots in fresh, hand-crafted food that suits both the lunch and dinner occasions. The new design features bold updates including a ceiling “wave”, new digital menu board design, iconic wall features and an all new “bubble wall” to replace the iconic “water wall.”

Costa Vida of Spanish Fork, Utah was the first to open with the new design on March 18. A second location that opened in Elko, Nevada earlier this month with the new design achieved the biggest opening in company history with continuing sales at a very high post-opening level. Future locations will open with the new design and will affect remodels of existing locations.

Whether it is the thrilling surf videos and high-energy music or the incredible smells of intense sauces, salsas and meats, diners will experience a Baja escape as they walk through the door.

Costa Vida serves food that is freshly made-from-scratch every day. Each tortilla is hand crafted daily and served hot, ensuring that no customer will ever have to eat a factory-made tortilla pulled from a bag. The sweet pork and shredded beef are perfectly seasoned and slow-cooked for several hours to create the signature intense aroma and flavors of Costa Vida.
