CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. - July 30, 2013 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Saladworks, the nation’s first and largest fresh-tossed salad franchise concept, has been inducted into QSR Magazine’s ‘Best Franchise Deals’ Hall of Fame.
Saladworks, featured in QSR Magazine’s July 2013 issue, joined the ranks of some of the largest brands in restaurant franchising by being featured in a special section of this top industry publication’s prestigious ‘Best Franchise Deals’ list, published annually. Saladworks was inducted for appearing in the magazine’s comprehensive list of the best franchise deals at least two times, appearing alongside other quick-serve brands such as Subway and Popeye’s.
Sam Oches, editor of QSR Magazine said, "Saladworks landed on our Best Franchise Deals list in each of the report's first three years, in no small part because of its strong average unit volume and excellent sales-to-investment ratio that it offers franchisees.”
“In fact, Saladworks was one of our inspirations in launching the Best Franchise Deals Hall of Fame this year. We knew the brand was likely to earn a spot on the list every year, so we initiated the Hall of Fame to create a space for companies like Saladworks to be permanently recognized,” Oches added.
Founded in 1986, Saladworks operates over 100 franchises both domestically and internationally. The company continues to eye aggressive growth nationwide and internationally, currently developing 100 locations coast-to-coast and planning to open 50 additional locations by 2015. This includes the recent opening of the company’s first international location, in JEM, one of Singapore’s first western-style shopping malls.
“It’s an exceptional tribute to be recognized by the leading publication in the restaurant industry,” said chairman and CEO John Scardapane. “We hope that this prestigious honor will continue to help us grow our customer base and bring healthy and convenient dining options to people all over the world,” he added.
Approximately 50 percent of Saladworks franchisees own more than one location and demand is booming. Saladworks is on target to open new locations in thriving areas such New York City metro; Seattle, WA; Greensboro, NC; Bowling Green, KY and Fairfax, VA.
