GNC Announces Grand Prize Winner of its $25,000 Total Lean™ Challenge and Sweepstakes

Online weight-loss management program helps health-conscious consumers change their lives by transforming eating and exercise habits.

PITTSBURGH - Aug. 6, 2013 // PRNewswire // - GNC Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: GNC), the nation's largest specialty retailer of health, wellness and sports nutrition products, concluded its Total Lean™ Challenge and Sweepstakes, rewarding 13 enthusiastic participants with the share of $25,000 in cash and prizes. Grand prize winner Karen Parra of Sacramento, CA received $10,000, and 12 other lucky sweepstakes participants each received $1,250 in prizes as part of this 12-week challenge designed to help consumers transform their eating and exercise habits for long-term weight management by giving them a practical way to take control of their health.

The Total Lean™ Challenge was a great success, with 2,878 consumers taking the initial challenge, without sweepstakes, that started on Jan. 7, and 22,657 unique consumers signing up for the Total Lean™ Challenge and Sweepstakes, which started on March 3. While many did sign up to lose weight alone (from 5 to 75 pounds!), other participants said they wanted to prep for a fitness competition, get in great shape, or were just wanting to live an overall healthier lifestyle.
