Buffalo Wild Wings Teams up for Kids with New Fundraising Promotion and All Stars Grant Programs to Benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of America

$1 million goal for pinup promotion; All Stars grant program to support football and cheer programs at local Clubs.

MINNEAPOLIS - August 9, 2013 - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Buffalo Wild Wings® and Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) are teaming up in a big way to make an impact on local communities across the United States. From Aug. 5 through Sept. 1, 2013, Buffalo Wild Wings will donate 100 percent of every pinup Guests purchase to Boys & Girls Clubs of America as part of Buffalo Wild Wings’ Team Up for Kids™ initiative. The paper pinups can be purchased for $1 minimum donation and will be posted in restaurants.

“Both of these programs offer tremendous support for Clubs to help facilitate sports programs that impact our youth with organized physical activity, lessons on sportsmanship and building teamwork skills that last a lifetime.”
This month, through Buffalo Wild Wings’ support, Clubs across the country will receive All Stars grants to add or improve flag or tackle football programs or cheerleading programs in their local Clubs. The All Stars grant program provides funding and football jerseys for all teams. All grant Clubs will also receive access to coaching education through the National Alliance of Youth Sports (NAYS). NAYS is a non-profit focused on creating positive and safe team sports experiences.

“We are excited to partner with Boys & Girls Clubs of America on the pinup promotion and All Stars grant program to achieve our vision of helping build communities where all kids can thrive, compete and belong to a team,” said Mary Twinem, chief financial officer at Buffalo Wild Wings. “Team sports help teach valuable life lessons and keep kids engaged with their local Clubs. The pinup promotion allows our Guests to join our efforts to reach as many children as possible and provide much needed funding.”

The goal is to raise more than $1 million by Sept. 1. Guests can buy a pinup (minimum $1) at their local Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant beginning Aug. 5. Guests can also donate at www.buffalowildwings.com/giving and BGCA online.

Buffalo Wild Wings has committed a minimum of $650,000 to Boys & Girls Clubs of America in 2013. The proceeds from the sale of pinups will be used to fund more sports teams. “The All Stars grant partnership and pinup sales with Buffalo Wild Wings are excellent ways for us to reach our goal of helping as many children as possible to become part of a team and build confidence and social skills,” said Wayne B. Moss, senior director of Healthy Lifestyles, Boys & Girls Clubs of America. “Both of these programs offer tremendous support for Clubs to help facilitate sports programs that impact our youth with organized physical activity, lessons on sportsmanship and building teamwork skills that last a lifetime.”

Buffalo Wild Wings’ commitment to helping make communities a better place to live, work and grow has been a part of its culture for over 30 years. Since the first restaurants opened in Ohio, the company has supported local community and school sports teams. Over the years, Buffalo Wild Wings, its franchisees and Guests have given millions of dollars to local teams, local community and school organizations, and to support those in need.
