LunchBOX (A WAXING SALON) makes Chic Salon Concept Available through Turnkey Franchise System

Wax-only salon to award up to four franchises this year in high-end, quality-driven markets, projects $337,000 annual sales per two waxing suites.

August 6, 2013, Boise, ID - LunchBOX (A WAXING SALON), known since 2010 for its viral brand that happily encourages all to "Bare Your Beauty," announced today it is making available its concept to qualified candidates through its newly formed franchising system.

LunchBOX Franchise LLC plans to award up to four franchises in 2013 and approximately 24 franchises in 2014. Initial markets for these proven, chic salons staffed with specially trained speed-waxologists include affluent, progressive communities that complement the high-end, quality-driven brand such as (but not limited to) Park City, Utah; Aspen, Colorado; the Pearl District in Portland, Oregon; Lake Oswego, Oregon; Queen Anne in Seattle, Washington; and Scottsdale, Arizona.

The LunchBOX Franchise System includes:

  • Training that blends business best practices and intensive LunchBOX speed-waxing technique instruction
  • LunchBOX Concierge Program, an ongoing business mentoring service
  • Site selection, build-out and marketing support
  • Custom-blended LunchBOX wax and skincare products for thoughtfully tailored pre-, during- and post-waxing
  • The BOX Out of the BOX, a launch kit that includes fixtures and furniture, marketing collateral, and LunchBOX retail merchandise.

When LunchBOX Founder Debi Lane realized the day spa she owned in Sun Valley was becoming nationally known for its unique speed-waxing technique, she transformed it to the state's first wax-only salon and since has experienced 100 percent year-over-year growth.

"Waxing, which is increasing in popularity and is becoming a more consistent contributor to the $7 billion beauty industry, was generally an after-thought at spas and salons," said Lane. "A clean, chic place dedicated entirely to comfort and waxing makes sense for consumers and business owners. It's the smartest business move I've ever made."

Projected first-year sales are $337,000 (per two waxing suites) with gross profits of $181,526, based on 2012 operations of the LunchBOX corporate store in Boise, Idaho. The majority of LunchBOX salons will feature four-suite configurations for a $45,000 initial franchisee fee. Total initial investment costs are estimated between $181,202-$263,577 based on a 120-day build-out schedule.
